You cannot give a drug addict a take home dose of a medication and expect them to take it properly and without sharing it with others. People are getting Suboxone from other people who are patients and getting a prescription. Come on! Wake up doctors and realize that drug addicts aren't the most trustworthy people and giving them a few weeks of take home doses and expecting them to do right by taking it properly is really expecting too much from them. Suboxone does seem to work for some when taken properly, but entrusting a drug addict with that much medication at one time is ridiculous. Got any suggestions anyone?

yes they should bust the docs that perscribe that junk each time they catch the pill heads with illegal perscriptions just go and arrest the doctor that wrote the perscription do that enough and the pill mill docs will take better care of who they write the stuff too

its not just the doctors fault,,,all a dr. can go by legaly is what the patient tells them. even if i would know for a fact omeone was abusing their meds all a dr can do is look into it, call em in for a pill count or test their levels..in cases like that most just go borrow some off someone till they get back. and when someone realy needs to see a dr over pain, it sucks when they hear where ur from and automaticaly assume ur on drugs. i would never get high off meds, ive had to many friends die, or are killing theirselves slowly now. the ER doctors at logan gen are bad to assume,,,my back went out when i was 18. all i did was bent over to pick up a pop can and moved wrong or something, needless to say i couldnt even sit up in the bed for atleast a good 4 days. but on that 3rd day i went to the ER and the 1st thing that came from the nurses mout is ur not gonna get a script,,,,that hurt ive never even been the kinda person to realy smoke pot. my back flairs up like that sometimes still yet but never more than once or twice a year,,,i cant even get to see a specialist over it because im from sarah ann, and they just assume im on drugs. so basicaly u have Dr.'s that are trying to take their paitents at their words untill they have been proved untrustworthy or u have docs that just stamp a lable on ya when u walk thro the door. a good dr will always try to do whats best for their paitent,,,some people on pains realy need them, and take them like they should. some have a condition that says they need em but they take em home and sell em. so i mean u cant always blame the doctors.

The whole methadone-suboxone-clinic thing is just a scam.

Nobody is getting off drugs there. They have just found a LEGAL source of drugs.

It takes guts, willpower, drive, desire and fortitude to get off of drugs, the realization that you are destroying your health, your family and your life and the common sense to realize this is all BY YOUR CHOICE.
Nobody ever found the solution in a syringe.

Blame the legislature for letting this happen in the first place.

Yeah, we see headlines about someone being caught with a few Xanax or Lortab tabs, and it looks like a lot is being done. However, you just don't hear about big drug busts anymore like raids and major confiscations of large amounts of drugs. That's where the problem lies.

No, the problem is with sleazy pill mill doctors and sleazy greed hogs at the methadone clinic.

the reason you don't read about "the big drug busts' is because its not people like the Chicken Man flooding the streets with pills, methadone and suboxone. Its guys college diplomas and doctors licenses.
You wanna see something done?
Ask the legislature to cut out the methadone clinics and cut out the state medical card for dope heads in their 20s and 30s.
The problem is with legal drugs taken by addicts and abused by addicts. Not street drugs.

He knows more about everything than anybody else does. We are all such dummies I'm surprised that we can comprehend the posts from his superior intellect. There are drug dealers in city residences that have never been touched.

It's time to put these druggies in a clinic & leave them there. If they need methadone or subuxone, they should have to do it at a psychiatric hospital.Shit! This crap is not working!

No, I have not been addicted to any pain pills. When I was laid up in the hospital I just didn't take any. I toughed it out.

Becuase I am smart enough to look around me and see people with weak brains and zero willpower who got hooked on this $#!+ because they took pill after pill after pill thinking it would make the pain go away, only to wind up getting hooked on this crap.

Newsflash Clyde, the only people who don't feel any pain are the dead. Pain is a part of life. You deal with it by coping, not copping a handfull of narcotics.

Yeah, there's more going on than just small time dealers on the streets getting pain meds from doctors, even though I agree the streets are being flooded.

Get a grip people. Just where do you think these pills come from?
They come from pharmacies. People get them from scrips from Doctors like Johnson, the guy who got sent up for 3 years.

Nobody is smuggling pain pills into Logan County from Honduras or Columbia. Sleazy doctors are overprescribing this stuff to make a sleazy buck, just like the guy said.
Get a grip, people and think.
This aint bathtub hooch or weed that somebody whipped up in their basement. Its pills that come from a pharmacy that addicts buy with a state medical card, eat half of em up in a week and sell the other half on the street.
The only 'big dealers' are the sleazy doctors who are overprescribing them, and the sleazy politicians who are helping pay for them, to get their sleazy hind ends back in office.

Leave the paranoid conspiracy theories to Oliver Stone, why doncha?

I am a total recovered drug addict I went through the suboxone program with a Dr. not the clinic! I had to take drug tests every month and attend a substance abuse class... SUBOXONE changed my life I work everyday and have became a great father and husband. I have been around the block and know it all since drugs were my life for 10 years! The Dr. that got me started was Dr Perez I went there for a pulled muscle after seeing him in the ER and boom he fixed me up with 90 7.5 and 3 refills 90 per month I was 18 years old..... This is how most of this crap has started with Dr.'s like him Hoover Writeman in willamson, Carbonell at holden Johnsonm, Perez, and McDevit in c ville, and there is one in Huntington that writes big stuff like oxy and roxy cant remember his name though.... This is where everyone goes to get scripts the POLICE KNOW but do nothing! 90% of this comes from welfare and med cards and FRADULENT comp claims (I was off work for 2 weeks) comp paid for my pills for over a year! I guess i got off topic..... Suboxone dont get you high it strips all the bad crap from your receptors and with proper matinence will get you off drugs in about a year.. I have been clean for a few years now.. I am sure there is a few that abuse it and a few sell it but, it is the least of the problem no one has died from it... Methadone does get you high and people do die from it! Suboxone cant be injected and METHADONE CAN... Suboxone does not get you HIGH AT ALL. I guess I am saying a few bad apples spoil it for the others that are doing it right.. There is no reason to abuse it ! It don't get you high it just keeps you from being sick.. And has helped alot of people get off drugs AGREED it will have a bad name because of the idiots that purchase it of the street. I guess I am glad I got through it before it got a bad name..

This shows what you know ignorance as follows it takes guts will power ect! That is the SMALLEST part of it do you know how many people have died from withdrawls from methadone and oxycontin.. Both can kill you if you try to quit COLD TURKEY... LOOK IT UP! Also by choice I dont think so you can easily become the next one on here to become an addict.. It is easy to take pills for a surgery or injury and get addicted by accident, this happens all the time. I know for the most part it is be choice but NOT ALWAYS! Educate yourself before your ignorance shines through again!

If suboxone don't get people high, why is it the hottest drug on the street in Logan County right now?
I have seen quite a few people getting busted with it in The Logan Banner in recent months and I have heard that one of the doctors prescribing it has allready gotten in trouble for giving out four times as much as they were allowed to.

Remo may not be as smart as he thinks he is, but he was smart enough to not get hooked on narcotics.
How many poeple in Logan and Mingo counties can't say that?
