Look at the statistics. The majority of accidents and deaths involve men in their 30s and early 40s. All this was posted before and is readily available if you research.

If we judge by reaction time and physical condition, how many of you overweight slugs would pass?

Aggressive drivers are annoying on the roads. Slow down, look around, stop jumping the lights, and everyone will get where they're going soon enough.

Oh wow - a witness??? You must be if you say "appears" because there was not nearly enough detail in the article to make such an assumption. But there is enough detail to know that he went under the trailer - which is back behind the tractor. And using a little common sense you would know that Tractor-trailers don't accelerate like Ferrari's, so that truck was presumably pulling out long before the car was near it, and the car should have had plenty of time to slow to let the entire tractor trailer pull out. Speculating fool.
The fact is that the truck driver, which most are morons, crossed the elderly man's lane; therefore, the truck driver should be held accountable. I am not sure if the accident happened on a hill, turn, or was somewhat hidden. I also don't know if it was foggy, rainy, or icy, but I do know you are an idiot.

i know exactly where it happened...i drive through the spot each time i leave my house...
it was pretty much a straight stretch...i came upon it JUST after it happened...but of course had no idea it was pete..anyway no rain...no fog or snow...im just figuring beings the truck pulling out from petes side of the road to go towards the direction he was coming that possibly there was no lights on the side of the trailer or something...pretty dark area...we will never really know...and i agree with you "yes" but not most...all truck drivers are morons...they do pull out in front of you left and right..they think they own the freakin road!!!!

The 88 year old gentleman was my very good friend . He was one of the nicest people I have ever known . The truck driver is also my friend and has 3 children a wife and a home that he supports . The ACCIDENT happened on a straight stretch of road with a slight bend in it . No street lights to light the road . The 88 year old driver was on his way home from AC after dropping his girl friend off at her home . THIS WAS AN ACCIDENT . This is also a part of Pa that has been neglected as far as road improvements go for decades . Many truck ACCIDENTS have happened on RT 209 probably more than 100 many fatal . Sometime Bad things happen to good people. THIS WAS AN ACCIDENT and a great deal of people that new the gentleman are very upset to the point of tears.

This is a tragedy for the 88yr old man and the driver of the truck. This was an accident. Many comments here are exactly that comments they are not facts and not all 88 yr olds can drive and not all truck drivers are morons listen to yourselves. Have a little compassion for both parties either one could of been a friend or a family member. God bless them and thier familes. This is just my comment.
