Your driveway, sidewalk up to your front door. These are all areas not considered trespass if you are to call on the homeowner. This guy is just a mean 'ole bastard that was probably once a young punk.

that is not true, if there is a sign no tresspassing that means not going onto the persons property which of course would be the path leading up to the persons house/door.

Ok I don't know where you live but in the US as soon as your leave the sidewalk, you are on private property.
He clearly had issues and should not have gotten his gun out or shot.
When they did not leave once asked, they were then trespassing.

Every state has its own trespass laws. There is no law against going on someones property to talk to them, unless you have been told not to.

You are breaking the law if you shoot a gun at anyone in the U.S.A. and you will be prosecuted by that law.

Others who may enter such land, unless forbidden to do so by the owner or occupant are: registered land surveyors to perform their services; persons in the sole process of retrieving their livestock or animals; persons making a delivery, selling a product or service, conducting a survey or poll or working on behalf of a political candidate or who otherwise have a legitimate reason for entering and immediately upon entering seek to conduct that business. This means that those who can show a legal or lawful reason to be on the property will not be considered trespassers, unless they had been told not to enter by the landowner.

yes you are breaking the law if you shoot someone, but if there is a sign that says no tresspassing and the person steps foot in the gate, its tresspassing, this is not what the JW did, had they done that then the owner has every right to protect his property from intruders, if the gun laws in the country are allowed, one may be able to fire shots over the head of someone if they refuse to leave.

True witness.... If there are no trespassing signs it is not legal anywhere.
If there are no signs once you are told to leave and don't, it IS trespassing. That was the case here. They were asked to leave, they persisted and it became trespassing.
But again the gun and shooting was out of line.

So is dragging innocent children onto property with no trespassing signs, knowingly putting them into potential danger!
Children of the JW cult have no choices, they are dragged door to door selling magazines, when they should be out playing or learning, not being the target of some lunatics rage.

Children of JWs, as opposed to other children? Other children DO have a choice? Of course they don't. Children do what their parents tell them to do.- Ephesians 6:1

We don't sell our magazines.

Further, you make it sound as if we don't allow our children to play, ever! That is pretty ridiculous, so I know you don't beleive that.

Signs or not I can walk up anybody's sidewalk and knock on their door. Some of you people "think" you know the law, but you must read court opinions to find out the truth.

If there are no trespassing signs and you are on my property, you can also be shot at.(just a warning of course)

no it is not true... where we lived no one was permitted in the town to solicit or sell or do anything unless they stopped at town hall and were questioned. we had a no trespassing sign and they did not obey the rules of the HOA..

and when people knocked on doors we had a number to call telling them who was in there what type of car and how many.

and in some states they are permitting people to carry concealed weapons..

no they are not permitted on my property.. if someone falls---they can sue me,. so no one is permitted to come onto the property to sell or preach
