Im not exactly sure on the laws ( I havent tended bar in over 6 years in Tn) but I know @ one time there was a law inplace about the owner of a bar and the person who served the Drunk Driver being held accountable because it is there job to cut a person off if they r drunk or consume a high number of drinks in a short time... and no matter what people say you can tell when a personhas had enough...

I am sure on that law and it is still in place in Tennessee. The last bar that they left from should be charged with DUI by allowing. It is my opinion that all those "honkey tonks" need to be shut down. They all are just trouble in more ways than one. I don't know if you remember but those 2 kids that burned up in that vehicle right up from Double O had just left that bar.

I don't remember what their names were, but If I am correct they were both from Athens. It just breaks my heart everytime I go out Hwy. 30, their families still keep flowers on the bank where it happened. I hope Mr. Guy does something about that place. That is not the only deaths of people who just left there, it just seems worse because they were so young and had a full life in front of them.

I agree close double o. How many people are gonna die on hwy. 30 before they close it?
All of you people need to get your high horse!!! Close the Double OO are you serious, it is not the Double "OO" that handed them the keys and tell them to go and try to kill their selfs. It is the fault of the 3 in the vehicle, where they came from is not the problem. The problem is that these people did not care about theirselves, or any one else on the road that night and drove. It is summer time, isn't like they would of froze to death to just sleep it off in the car for a while. The passengers could of been smart enough to not get in the car car with a drunk behind the wheel.

And your getting this from a recovering alchoholic, I may have been the biggest drunk in the country, but my butt did sleep in a car 4-5 times a week, just so I would never put myself or anyone elses life in danger!!

So for you people wanting to close businesses that are employing people and keeping them off of welfare, go straight to hell, because of people like you that think your stuff don't stink, our economy is in the bag. Double "OO" is a business that needs to stay open, even though I don't go there, doesn't mean that their tax money is not appreciated somewhere, and besides maybe that would put someone from our area out of work, is that what we really need??? Probably Another unemployed single mother???

If ur offened give them a job... Its the person serving them the drinks and the owner of the bar that can be held liable not you unless ur R one or the other...the law states more than 2 drinks or if the person is already intoxicated it is thier job to cut them off that means do not serve them. I was an employee @ a ber in Athens for 7 years if they were too drunk and I kept giving tham drinks then let them leave driving I was liable so I never had a prob cutting anyone off. Most employees in a bar make cash money dont pay taxes and get food stamps and anything else that goverment will offer. I know because I was one of them... thats how I finished school and took care of my kids...and I agree it should be shut down... so thx for ur opinion and if an opinion puts me on a high horse than Im on it cause I got one... gess u r too cause u had 1 too lol...

Shame on you guest, for saying something so mean. I hope God never decides to punish you for It. Everybody is someones loved one. Drunk or sober.Yes, I think drunk drivers should be punished, but just living with the knowledge that you killed somebodies loved one maybe enough.

When a person makes the decision to drink and drive they are endangering everyones loved ones.
If they had any concern they would not do it to start with.
There have been drunk drivers kill people then go on to drink and drive again.
They deserve no mercy or pity.
