Seen what looked like a motorcycle gang two day's in a row in Sweetwater. Friend of mine said they have been there for a couple of years. Is this true? If so why hasn't the police ran them off?

That club will be the Highwaymen and they are more like a street gang. They will bring in trouble.

Why would you automatically assume they would bring in trouble? I bet you don't even know any Highwaymen. The Highwaymen in my area do some really good things in the community. You should give them a chance before jumping to conclussions.

From what I've seen on the History channel most motorcycle gangs are dangerous.
I went on-line and found where the Detroit Highwaymen gang in MI was arrested for all kinds of illegal activity.
You must not be from Detroit then.

There is also a "gang," if you want to call them that, in the Monroe County area called BACA Bikers Against Child Abuse. They advocate for children who have been abused. They have been seen in the Monroe County Courthouse during child abuse cases heard in court. And they used to (don't know if they still do) meet at the Magnuson Hotel one Sunday a month. And if I'm not mistaken, one of the guy's nickname is Detroit. Maybe that is the "gang" that has been seen around Sweetwater.

BACA is just an organization of bikers lead by Clueless, I mean "Clueman". Some are posers, but most really wanna help the kids.
There is a gang from Detroit around, mostly small time drug dealers and thieves.

I am from Detroit with family in the Athens area and just because someone rides a motorcycle and is in a club does not mean they are up to no good. Yes, there are bad ones, but a majority of the riding clubs do a lot for kids and the communities they live in, so don't be too quick to judge folks just because they look or do things differently than you do.

I'M A NATIVE OF SWEETWATER AND I KNOW HOW SLOW IT CAN BE THERE. I UNDERSTAND THE CONCERNS ABOUT BIKE CLUBS. THERE ARE SOME THAT ARE OUTLAW CLUBS AND THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR COLORS.I'M IN A FAMILY OF BIKERS AND WE HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT POSITIVE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND SURROUNDING AREA'S.
I DO WANT TO VOICE THAT THERE IS CHRISTIAN'S THAT RIDE BIKES TOO AS WELL AS #*&$ RAISERS.I NEVER HEARD OF HIGHWAY MEN SO I CAN'T JUDGE THEM I JUST WANTED TO GET IT OUT THAT NOT ALL BIKERS ARE CRIMINALS, DRUG PUSHERS AND USERS. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU APPROACH THESE GUYS IF THEY ARE OUTLAWS, BECAUSE IT CAN BE UGLY, BUT TAKE A STAND AND DON'T LET THEM TAKE OVER THE TOWN. BE BLESSED AND STAY STRONG.

MOST of your Bike Clubs, do great work for the community and tons of charities! Yes, they stick together, however, if you will give them a chance, the whole club and personalities are very respectful. You always will have bad apples in every bunch, but you can not be so blind as to think everyone is like that. What about the CMA, Christian Motorcycle Association? What about the Police support club, or the Firefighters support clubs, Not all bikers are evil! I am sure that if you needed help, A BIKER WOULD BE THE FIRST IN LINE TO HELP! DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!
