The Rev. Roy McLaughlin of Cornerstone Baptist Church was found dead from what police say is a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday in Holly Township.

He was my parent's pastor in Vilonia, Arkansas over 25 years ago. We will pray for strength for his family at this difficult time.

Roy was my roommate in the first year of college back in 1968. I am so sad to hear this news.

Pastor McLaughlin was my pastor at Cornerstone. He was a man of honor and integrity and he stood for what the Bible was about. I will truly miss him, but as he would always say God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
