Peyton is really cute. I know he will come through surgery just fine.

However, I have a question about his medical condition. What exactly is "Vein Of Gallen"? Is it some type of swollen vein, or artery that won't stop growing? Does he have headaches? Does it interfere with his sight, or his ability to move around? The article doesn't go into any details and I think it would be good for people to be educated, in order to keep up with his progress.

I wish the family well.

The vein of galen malformation is located in the middle of the brain everyone has a vein of galen but Peyton's is malformed. The vein connects with an artery and has small feeder veins that also go into the malformation. All the blood that flows into the malformation will make it larger causing a build up of fluid on the brain. There has not been a lot of research done on the malformation because it is so rare and only 10% of babies diagnosed will live. We have been so fortunate to have our little boy for 3 years. Thank everyone so much for all of their thoughts, support and prayers.

Thank you so much for the information. I know this is a tough time for your family right now, but I feel optimistic that he will be better, soon.
