The Meadows' are burning all the houses they tore down to build the new CVS (which they were suppose to haul off). They tried to hide the fact that they piled them in the hollow by piling trees and brush around everything. They started the fire yesterday evening and with the size of the pile, its going to be burning for a long time.

Did they get a ticket for the fire or just a slap on the hand cause if we did it we would get a ticket for it

I know for a fact the DNR came out to check and everything was on the up and up. Most debris was hauled away. The stuff in the burn pile was mostly pine trees and underbrush. Best to check facts and not go on heresay. The project is being overseen by the folks at CVS and everything is permitted and legal.

And the law applies to everyone, sweetie. Do you really think a large company is going to risk those kinds of fines? Whatever they did was within the law. Don't put down the people who have worked and built a secure financial life for themselves.(Probably from the ability to spell, use punctuation, and grammar) Have a great day.

I wasn't aware I wrote for a paper? Kbbhlkk, don't be so sensitive. It's no one's fault but yours if the law got you for a meth lab or whatever you were up to. And are you suggesting that instead of getting the required permits and what not to set this fire, they just paid the law large amounts of money? You're right that makes so much more sense. I'm sure that's exactly what they did. Morons.

How could they not have been street legal? They would have had to take interstates crawling with State Troopers. It seems to me like whoever wants to get on here and cry about the "rich" people forget how they got rich. They didn't get on websites and whine about things, they started careers and took care of themselves.

So there u go have a nice day A__hole A rock truck, or "wiggle wagon", as some call them are not street legal trucks, and that is what the construction debris was being loaded into. I have pictures. Yes, it was WHOLE HOUSES that were burnt. Also, it is ILLEGAL in WV to burn ANYTHING (including "trash") other than vegetation, without proper permits. Please read below. This was copied from the WV DEP website: "If in violation of the open burning law, 45CSR6, refusal to comply may result in a Notice of Violation and/or a fine of up to $10,000 a day. Materials illegal to open burn include: Household trash (burn barrels and/or piles) including paper products - such as cardboard, boxes, etc. Construction, building, or demolition materials (examples: lumber, flooring, roofing material, carpet, plastic, styrofoam, etc.) Wood pallets and other packaging materials Tires or other rubber products Asbestos-containing materials including building materials Insulation from copper wire Waste paints, waste oil, or solvents Open Burning of Land Clearing Debris Must be "Approved": Vegetative material generated by clearing of land for purposes of preparation for development, construction, mining or other such activity may be open burned provided there is no practical alternative disposal method Non-vegetative (ex. construction debris) material is not considered land clearing debris Pitburners should be used whenever practical and may be required in non-rural areas Must complete the approval to conduct open burning form and receive written approval from DAQ" So, there YOU go, A__Hole.:) This has nothing to do with anyone being jealous of the "rich" in our county. It has to do with people who think they are above the law and can do whatever they want without any consequences.
