HAIR AND BODY SOLUTIONS AND AURORA “THINK PINK” FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
New Berlin, WI (October 26, 2009) Dawn Panfil, owner of Hair and Body Solutions salon and spa has partnered with Aurora Health Care for the second year, to support breast cancer awareness during the month of October, breast cancer awareness month. Hair and Body Solutions is selling “Think Pink” hair extensions through October 31st to raise money for breast cancer awareness. The “Think Pink” hair extensions are $15.00 per extension. Dawn Panfil said,“We encourage everyone to show their true colors. We will offer our “Think Pink” hair extensions through the month of October, which is breast cancer awareness month, with all proceeds benefitting Aurora Breast Health funds supporting education, prevention and survivorship here in our community.” Dawn added,“This fundraiser was a huge hit last year raising nearly $11,000! As of today we have collectively raised $35,000, our goal is to increase our awareness to $50,000 this year! We are supporting this cause because we know the money we raise will help women in need and truly save lives! We have always believed in supporting the communities that support us. We have the means to make a difference and together we are!” This year not only will Hair & Body Solutions be doing Pink Hair, but they have recruited Salon CTI in Appleton, The Salon Professional Academy Redken school in Appleton, Urban Trends Salon & Spa in Sturtevant and WCTC to extend breast cancer awareness in eastern Wisconsin from Green Bay to the state line. Together these salons and schools have worked hard to raise funds for women with breast cancer. The response and embrace from the communities has been overwhelming this year! Women come for pink hair to support the Cause in pink t-shirts with a survivor friend, squads of Pom Pom girls, 3 generations of families, they come with great stories of survivorship, they come with tears and hugs, they come with gratitude that we are doing something to help those in need. We’ve “Pinked” Packer wives & Brewers wives, the very young and the seasoned veterans. We’ve “Pinked Soccer Moms and business Professionals, including many men that want to support loved ones. One high school in Appleton currently has 5 teachers with breast cancer and the students have embraced this, they feel great that they can do something to support breast cancer awareness. Together they will all provide pink hair in these 3 salons, local high schools and colleges in addition to working with Panera Bread & Café on their dedicated Charity Nights. Panera will be donating .25 for each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold to Aurora’s Breast Health Fund. |
