I live in a rather urban area with poor public schools. When my daughter was of age, we went around and looked into private Christian schools in the area. I have to admit, I was not impressed with the curriculum taught in most of these places. Three of them used home school materials.

That's pretty much what we're doing. We may move into a different school zone before she hits middle school, which would really solve the problem. Our neighborhood elementary school is fine, but the middle school has gang related issues--and we're talking 6-8 grades.

The public schools are parochial schools for the Secular Humanist religion. It's fine that Secular Humanists have their own schools, but they want everyone else to pay for them. It's amazing how the Christian schooled and home schooled children are consistently better educated than the children attending public schools. And public schools spend so much money to deliver such poor education. Why is that?
