I hope the people of Port Barre see what Richard is really all about. He has a gambling problem that we the tax payers are paying for. Every night he is at Chicken King playing video poker not riding around town making sure his officers are doing their job. He does not care about the drugs on the streets that are getting sold to our children. He had his chance to show us what he can do. I think it's time for someone else to make Port Barre a better place to raise our children and not be known for drugs and speeding tickets.

as far as the election goes with who should win, well think of this: Do we want someone to make everyone cautious about passing through because of tickets or do we want everyone stopping in to boost our businesses. People don't even like to come to Port Barre because of the drugs. More and more parents are picking their children up after school instead of letting them walk home or catch the bus because hoodlums are waiting for them to step off the school ground so they can sexually harrass them, beat them up or sell drugs to them. A lot of people don't even want to stop at the Shoprite because crack head wanna be gansters are waiting in the corners to mess with people. Harrass the girls and women, try to fight the guys or sell drugs... This community is too small for all this.. This is our town. We the voter should think about who is best as the Chief. Someone who is a dedicated police official. Someone who wants to make a difference. Someone who has shown kindness when needed and yet tough on criminals. You'r right, David Richard has had his chance and so far he hasn't impressed me. The streets aren't safe as they should. The drugs are still here. I think Deon Boudreaux would be the best man for the job. When he was patrolling our streets he was dedicated to stopping crime and making it safe. And it was. The streets were safer and the drugs weren't as big a problem. Now just look around you. Would you take a night time walk with your wife at night. Do you trust that your children aren't going to be influence or harrassed? I doubt it. Bring Deon Boudreaux into office. He is someone that cares about the people and about the community. We need a good cop in charge....

its 5 candidates not four i think richard will have a run for his money. i heard that richard is always beating people in handcuffs.i thought that the fight was over after they were cuffed. i guess thats the only way he can fight. i see that Officer Francis left and went back to OPDwhy because he knows richard wont be there after the election to help hom out any more or he was tired of seeing his chief spend the towns money at chicken king. one of the officers told me that they would bring richard to the towns clerk house at night so they can have sex and she would let the police department get whatever they wanted. elect anyone but not richard.

ok first of all deon has it hands down. Richard is to worried about gambling at Chicken King many of times i went there and he was there in uniform in the cop car, gambling, and everyone knows about him and the town clerk that is not a chief that is someone who needs to go to gamblers anonymous meetings, and back to church. i dont know much about the other people running but Deon has been a cop for a long time, and if you want to see what he is all about go to Port Barre Mobil, and get one of his pamphlets. we cant have Richard as chief for another four years think of it Port Barre people do we want all of our money going to Chicken King, and not for chicken either.

vickey keys you got to be joking elect keys and see,his family and friends are the main ones that stay in trouble ,dealing drugs, threating store owners when they get caught stealing, then fighting the cops .do you think he is going to arrest his own family.i doubt it he always supports them when they get in trouble and sometimes helps them beat the cops .you want a safe place to raise your family and put a end to all of the towns problems vote boudreaux

Deon is going to get rid of drugs? Who did he bust with drugs in Port Barre. The only thing he did was spread a rumor that he had narcotics warrants on David's son. He worked narcotics at the Sheriff's Office under the great Laura Balthazar who he endorsed for Sheriff on the Daily World. This is what he had to say in February 2006:

Det. Deon Boudreaux

As a law enforcement officer for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff department and a citizen of St. Landry Parish I have known Sheriff Zerangue my whole life and I am greatly honored to serve under his direction.
Sheriff Zerangue is definitely a legend in his own time. I also have the pleasure to serve under Chief Deputy Balthazar and in no doubt know that she is the perfect candidate for Sheriff. Balthazarís knowledge, experience and will power to push forward is a great asset to our communities.

First of all, No one, no matter who it is will ever get rid of drugs. But I know Mr. Boudreaux personally and he will do his best once elected as Chief of Port Barre to fight the drugs that are going on in Port Barre and Deon has arrested plenty of drug dealers and users while employed in Port Barre and at the Sheriff's Office. I do not know who Deon is endorsing for Sheriff but I do know that he and alot of other employees basically had no choice but to write that article for the daily world in fear of losing their jobs. Next time, have some common sense before you write.

Here are the 5 candidates that are running for Chief of Port Barre. I will put them in order with number 5 being the lowest.

5. Gene Soileau-(Together we can make a change) The only change that Gene Soileau can make is to clean up his appearance, his house and his yard. What a joke.

4. Vickey Keys- The best thing that he can do is to stay at home, keep faking his so called injury so we as taxpayers can keep paying for him to recieve his disability check.

3. Arthur Lamke- Stay at the casino Arthur, it's not going to happen.

2. David Richard- It is too late to try and make a mends with the people you have cursed at, treated like crap and ignored. When the taxpayers call upon you at your office, they do not get to talk to you unless it is someone of the upmost importance to you, they get to talk to your secretary. And if we are lucky, you might return our calls days later. What a busy man you must be! You say your door is always open, what door are you referring to? The swinging door at chicken king? I am sure now that it is close to election time that you will make youself available at the taxpayers beck and call but it is now too late for that! You have had your chance and you did not live up to our expectations. So do not call on us and expect us to be there for you come September 30th.

1. Deon Boudreaux- Here is a man I have grown to know over the years. Mr. Boudreaux is a honest, polite and well respected man throughout the community. I know when Mr. Boudreaux is elected Chief of Police, he will do his best to rid our community of the drug dealers, the prowlers and the everyday criminals we are forced to see day in and day out. We as taxpayers want to be able to walk our streets day or night and not have to wonder if we are going to get approached by drug dealers, burglars or by a drunk begging for money. I have talked to numerous people and the majority of us voters can agree on one thing and that it is time for a change, a change for the better and that is Deon Boudreaux for Chief of Police September 30th.

If Richard has a gambling problem, can you prove he is using tax payer's money. I doubt it. He may be a lot of things and has stepped on many people's toes doing his job, but no one else has brought the Port Barre Police Department to where it is today. As far as him riding around checking on his police officers at night, he should not have to babysit them. They are supposed to be professionals and know how to do their jobs without someone watching them 24/7.

If Mr. Boudreaux is so concerned about the citizens of Port Barre, then why isn't he out in the streets meeting the citizens? He has other people out there campaigning for him. What's up with that. Most people in this town don't even know who he is. And as far as the drug problem, Mr. Boudreaux himself covered up for one of our local users/dealers, while working under Richard.

To the people of Port Barre, let's face it, we all have skeletons in our closets, some more than others. As the old saying goes, he who is without sin, cast the first stone." Every candidate running has something to hide (and I mean every last one of them),and has done something they are not proud of. Once again, the candidates are name calling and gossiping, instead of running on the positives of what they can do. I would like to see a debate with all candidates so they can answers questions about what they can do as chief. Let's be honest, what more can they do for the community than Richard has done. He is not perfect, but neither are they,(those running who worked under Richard seem to have forgotten how he put his neck on the line for their stupidity) but they can't run their campaigns without bringing in personal business, rumors and gossip. To all the candidates, "BE A MAN AND RUN A CLEAN CAMPAIGN."

not only does Richard has a gambling problem he has a drug problem as well stop getting your workers to go and pick up your pills. as for covering up something how many things has Richard covered up. what about when the dispatcher was sleeping with the inmmate he made turn in her stuff so her husband would not find out, what about when that gun came up stolen why did he call off the state police, man the list can go on. Another concerned citizen you are correct we are not proud of somethings we do thats whay we stop as for Richard tell him stay off that mopad and away fro the towns clerk house you think people dont see in parking in the back of her house oh let me guess they are talking numbers. As for drugs Rihard have a user/dealer living with him if you dont know ask OPD. Speaking of beaing a man Richard you are a joke/clown look aroud you no one wants to tell you but your time as chief is short just like you. How dare you think that you should get another four years in office you need to stay at home and make ends with your family and stop playing step dad you have kids of your own. Give it up Richard go and take another pill.

I have lived in Port Barre all of my life. I have known Richard from the very first time he began working for Port Barre P.D. Back when McGee was Chief. Believe me, Richard has done a lot of growing up. He has his faults, who dosen't? Richard may be a lot of things...but he's one hell of a chief. He has brought this town to a higher standard tha any other chief that has ever held office. For once in the history of Port Barre we have a chief that is concerned about this town and its citizens. Now don't get me wrong, he's a little hell cat himself, but I never thought I'd see the day that Richard would take control of a situation and handle it the way it should be handled. PROFESSIONALLY!!! I would not endorse or vote for any of the young men that are running, because we need someone in office that has EXPERIENCE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT. RICHARD HAS IT, HE LEARNED IT IN OPELOUSAS where he had to work with the toughest criminals you can find in Lousiana. These youngsters running against him cannot, and do not have the balls to tackle this job!!!! Think about that before you vote against Richard.

Experience yeah right he drove old people around and worked the jail get real in fact while working the jail they had a jail break and they put his head in the toleit. he could not run the jail how cold he run the town. well let me say this somethings he did was good he did get better things for the deaprtment but anyone could have done that but who wanted to sleep with the town clerk. Somethings that Richard got for the department he broke what he had to get something new. Richard has done so many childish things while in office it is a shame. You said balls come on be real Richard only put his hands on people when they are in cuffs unless they are the town jerk oh i mean clerk. Vote for who you want but sept 30 we will see.
