The limit of .08 % is already too low. The only purpose of lowering the limit is to produce more money for cities, counties and the state. Why not lower the alcohol concentration limit to 0.0% for the matter?
That would prevent people from driving even after a sip of alcohol. Yet, the cities, counties and state would make no money on the business of arresting people who drink a fraction of a glass of wine too much. They would rather allow people to think they are below the limit so that they will get into their cars only to be arrested and fined by every municipality in the vicinity. If this state is serious about preventing alcohol related accidents, then it should allow no alcohol in the bloodstream. Then, people would not be tempted to get into their cars after a small drink. I don't think the state is serious about eliminating alcohol from driving. It's making much money from those who have one taste of wine too many. Forty years ago, the police would let you go if you were drunk. Now, they make you wish you weren't born if you wine taste one too many. Either allow no alcohol or raise the limit to a more reasonable amount. Currently, it is like a game of trying to guess if you are under the alcohol limit. The state likes it this way.

You can get a DUI at a 0.0%, so what is your arguement?

You're right, if you show signs of impairment. Maybe the thought was to include drug testing with lowering the limit to 0.0% so that one would know that if they ingest anything they are at risk?

A single beer or glass of wine throws a lot of people over .08 already.

Just seems simple to me that if you have to drink/etc. don't drive. If you have to drive, enjoy the cocktail or ?? when you get home.
