I was recently on vacation in the Gatlinburg Tenn. area and noticed a large contingency of a motorcycle club named the "Defenders MC". The first thing I noticed wass they were representing law enforcement. The second thing I noticed is they tried to potray themselves as a part-time 1% outlaw motorcycle gang with their three piece patch and their 1* patch on the front where most omc's wear their 1% patch. I dont get it, wear a uniform 5 days a week then turn into a wanna be 1% on the weekends, POSERS!
Trust me if the Defenders were accepted by their peers at the PD they wouldn't need to try to be accepted as hardcore 1% outlaw motorcycle gang. I saw an actual "real" Ohio "Outlaw MC" member laughing at the entire Defenders MC on the strip to their faces like a bunch of sallies. That was funny to see the DMC dressed so hard core act like little girls when challenged by one Outlaw.
Grow up Defenders, lose the 1% theme, act like professional LE and you will get the respect you deserve.

ok here is the problem the pacthes is a sign of the job not to be a hard core biker as u put it the out laws have there thing and i personaly dont want to step on the life style or there way of doing things most of the defenders just want to ride there bikes and keep the wind in our hair and the sun at our back so looks are not every thing so look at your self before you cast the first stone

First thing is that were not portraying are selves as 1%'ers. Were a bunch of guys who are law enforcement officers and civilians who enjoy motorcycles and love to ride. Don't judge us because we follow the laws that this great nation put in place. Oh Yea! We never had an Outlaw Member tell us anything. Trust me, weren't not scared of, or will ever let them tell us what we will or can do.

Oh Please. All bikers these days are nothing but a bunch of old men. Who really gives a rats azz where they wear their patches or how many they have.
If a "real" biker is offended, such as an Outlaw, then they're the ones who need to grow up. Act your age. You're probably 60 years old or older. Stop trying to be some hard core renegade.
And dude from Miami- Learn to spell. If you're really with law enforcement, that doesn't give me much faith of the educational level required by the department.

The original poster is one of those "sensitive" bikers who is deeply offended that guys in law enforcement can enjoy the same type of motoring and brotherhood that he does. They're typically cop-haters who wouldn't approve of anything involving law enforcement.

The Defenders MC doesn't try to be anything at all like the other motorcycle clubs, other than following some of the very basic traditions that identify a "motorcycle club" as opposed to a "riding club". Wearing a 3-piece patch isn't exclusive to 1% outlaws; many Christian and veteran motorcycle clubs do the same thing. And the 1* symbol originated in SWAT and has been used by law enforcement and military around the world.
Anyone with an ounce of sense would instantly recognize the Defenders as a police club (as the OP did), and not an "outlaw-wannabe" group. A huge 6-pointed Sheriff's star as a centerpatch, american flags, and (as most guys wear) departmental patches are unmistakeable.

Not all cops share the same interests off-duty. Some like golf, or tennis, or boating. The few who enjoy motorcycling and are serious about the idea of sharing a brotherhood of like-minded professionals are the ones who make up this MC. Universal peer acceptance isn't a concern, because no matter what the profession, not every guy is going to be into bikes or want to be a part of a brotherhood based on riding.

I went to a funeral yesterday in N. E. OH, the Defenders provided a motorcycle escort for the passed mother of a brother. It was 9f. It seemed like a hard core show of respect to me.

Who cares what the 1% clubs think about another club wearing the 3 piece patch set? Who cares what the COC's think? They are not in charge of the other clubs unless those clubs accept them as their leaders. LE clubs are not allowed in the COC's nor would many of them join if allowed.

Do you ask the local street gangs what color shoes, shirt or bandana you are allowed to wear each day? I sure as hell hope you don't stoop that low.

The Tribe of Judah is a motorcycle ministry that in most every state is respected and recognized by MC"s word wide. The Tribe attempts to follow all accepted protocals and focus' its ministry on the 1% clubs. Being part of an MC is not the same as a 1% club. There are rules for being part of this society, just as there are to be a member of law enforcement or respected members of any community of people. We respect those rules and I am proud as a full patch holder to be accepted in the community of MC's and 1%er clubs.
So Randy, we are an MM that is accepted and respected. We meet regularly, come see us

I was recently asked if I was interested in joining the defenders because I am LE and ride. I did s little web surfing and found this string of comments.....I usually ride alone but I was interested.....I read the first comment about the once member taunting the defenders......I thought it to be a little short sighted but I could see how someone who knows nothing about service would feel this way. I then went to the Defenders web site.....what I found there were brothers who were doing charity work......some serving in the military over seas.........I thought to myself...hmmm....if I needed help or was getting the whit kicked out of me by the side of the road.....would I rather have a group of off duty cops happen by or a group of outlaw bikers.........? Kind of a no brained ad it could possibly be the once u would need to be rescued from..........ad far as the p.o.s. that was taunting the defenders.......cops get far worse then that everyday from low lifesaver.....did u expect them to stoop to the level of once?.........after weighing all this out and giving careful consideration to the question of whether to join the Defenders I decided I will.....partly due to the ignorance of that first post.....after all....some people r so wrong in this world...doing the opposite of what they would do is the safe bet......and even it all I ever did was pay the dues....it would go to a good cause..........I wonder what the once dues go toward? Crank?

Just read my own writing.....monotone used to this phone making words for me.....sorry for all that I hope is came across right......my point is I support the law abiding club and am glad to share the road with them knowing that they would help me and my family if need be rather than be the reason I might need help........also I think it commendable that they r willing to announce who they are in this way.............

I am a former TOJ Patch holder and you are correct. The Tribe Of Judah is the most respected MM in the world when it comes to outlaw clubs. The majority of TOJ member came from 1% clubs or prison ect..

I used to work with a TOJ in Houston we both came from about the same Backgrounds of knowing and being around 1%ers and he was a good guy and talk to me and knowingly I ran around with some 1%ers in Houston he was a good guy in my book and him being from Pasadena Tx. wasn't an easy place to live at......... They are respected by 1%ers and you can see that at the Swap meets and Drag Strip..........
