I applied for a CWP in Florida in January 2008 and it took 28 days as I recall. I'd gone to the local sheriff's office and had the finger printing done electronically. This sped up the process somewhat. I just renewed the license since they were only good for 5 years (now they are issued for 7 years) and was surprised to get the renewal back in only 1 week! They seem to be moving along pretty well and I'd recommend just being patient. Some offices are more backed up than others. Mine was the central FL office and they were quick.

Applied in person May 2013, was told it would take 6 weeks for license to arrive. Checked status online via my tracking # July 2013 and it shows "incomplete- info as to why has been mailed to you address." Never recieved any info.

When I checked status via tracking # by calling and using phone automation recording stated all applications are backlogged 90-120 days.

Got in touch with a rep at the office in Miami and was told to come in because he cant give me info over the phone, or just keep waiting..

Couldn't tell me if my application is incomplete or just backlogged. Anyone else having this problem?
Dont see how it could be incomplete since I applied in person, and THEY checked to make sure I had everything. Paid via check, got printed etc...

So far, it has been an EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL experience dealing with the Miami Office (actually Doral)
