It's against the law to buy stolen property.

Pawn shop owners can't help but unwittingly buy some stolen goods every so often. Only in PA would a judge be so ignorant and harsh to impose 5 years in prison. In other states, there may be a fine for buying something that's stolen or a warning, but not 5 years of your life thrown away by an arogant, and sadistic judge. This family man ran a business, he was not a violent thug!
How about "Pawn Stars" on TV, why aren't they ridiculed and thrown in prison when they make a mistake and buy a stolen item? In PA, we have ignorant, clanish, vindictive, provincial fools in power that abuse their authority, that's the problem! No wonder the economy is so poor in PA!

They had a good case against him or he would not have gotten 5 years. He knew and those selling the goods all knew the stuff he was buying was stolen.
We know it wasn't probably the first time he purchased stolen goods.
He needs some jail time.
