BW Concerned Voter,<quoted text>
First, thank you providing me the link to the application for the finance committee and encouraging me to volunteer. As I had indicated in a prior post, I emailed Felicia Drummery twice and called her office once to ask for the link, but also to find out the criteria. My emails and phone call was not returned. Needless to say, not being responded to did not bode well with me. However, I have opted not to apply for this committee because I cannot commit to monthly meetings for 3 years. I am on a zoning board and two United Way task forces, thus that level of committment exceeds the amount of time I currently have. Regardless, I will be watching the outcome of these meetings hoping that the committee is not made up of rubber stampers.
Also, if you were present at the community meeting last night, can you give us a synopsis of what transpired? I was unable to attend this meeting, but am interested in the questions/answers..and intend to be at the next one.
No prob. Iím happy to help. I mean that.
I would not take it personally that Felicia did not call you back. I imagine that she is absolutely swamped. Iíve called and e-mailed her too and no response. I got over it.
The Big Walnut newspaper has an article on what will happen if the levy does not pass. It is worth reading. I expect that the papers will have a write up of what transpired at the community forum too.
Although I really wanted to attend the community forum, I had other pressing obligations. I have the next one on my calendar and I hope to see you there!
