Fatal Accident in Columbia County

On July 24, 2009, at 12:16 a.m., the Columbia County Sheriffa TMs Office received a call of a two-vehicle accident on CTH C south of Hall Road in the Township of Hampden Ben VanderVenter, 21 years of age, from rural Columbus was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbia County Medical Examiner Hinze.

You forgot to mention that the 69 year old driver of the other car did not call 911 after the accident. Instead he called his wife who lives 15 miles away in Rio and told her to come to the accident scene and tell the cops that she was driving the car so he wouldn't get another DWI. He called his wife several times before she arrived. He called 911 only after his wife arrived on the scene. Maybe if he would of called 911 right away EMT's could of saved this young mans life.
