The sign on the door reads "CLOSED" some West Valley Customer's say their door was left wide open.
There are 3 comments on the www.azfamily.com story from Jan 4, 2009, titled The sign on the door reads "CLOSED" some West Valley Customer's say their door was left wide open.. In it, www.azfamily.com reports that:
A Valley business has apparently shut down abruptly, leaving many folks out of money and without the door they were expecting to have installed at their home. The company is called Designer Doors and there are three different Valley locations. One is in north Phoenix and two are in the East Valley. But all three Designer Doors just closed up recently, leaving customers in the dark. According to a azfamily.com 3 On Your Side Investigative Report Sun City West resident June Dowler was looking for a little added protection for her home and thought a security door was just what she needed. "Well, I was all excited," Dowler told 3 On Your Side. "I was buying a security door for my front door and I went to Designer Doors on May 16." There, Dowler told Channel 3 reporters that she found the perfect security door for around $800 so she ordered it and wrote a check for half the amount as a down payment. After handing over that check, a company rep reportedly told Dowler that all she had to do was wait about a month to have it installed. Well, a month of waiting came and went and Dowler began to get a little nervous. She says she called Designer Doors over and over, but no one at the showroom ever answered. With an uneasy feeling, she drove down to the showroom and was shocked to find the business was locked and basically was cleaned out. "There was a big sign on the doors that thanked everybody for their past patronage, but due to a shortage of business they had closed," Dowler said.
