This is so sad...these 2 men may have memory trouble and to be treated like this is totally uncalled for. Obviously they are known to be members! If you need to see the cards then make a photo copy for your records to keep on file for in the future. This probably scared the hell out of these 2 men! That might be why their behavior was the reaction they took. I hope the administrator has a nice chat with the employee that caused this seen.

You go old people!

Show those deputies of Sheriff Joe what you are made of.

I like the way the deputy claimed he 'guided' the old guy to the ground.

Why didn't the deputy just admit what he did?

Body slammed the old guy until he bit the dust.

Too bad the old guys weren't 'carrying.'

Bet the deputy wouldn't have 'guided' the old guy to the ground then, would he?

Weren't these two just added to the fbi's most wanted list...c'om people all they were doing was playing tennis. We should all be so lucky to be able to do sports at their age. God bless them.

arresting 80 year olds for playing tennis

reminds me of the cocoon movies

also reminds me of idiots, how can a cop in their right mind have that little respect for the elderly

i mean how much trouble could 2 80 year old tennis players be causing

blown way out of proportion, misuse of the power to arrest, and horrible people skills on behalf of the officer and management involved at this establishment

a really sad day when we are supposed to live in a free country yet 80 year olds are arrested for playing tennis

we have drifted far from what our forefathers wanted

I think this is bull shit. These two elderly men had been going to this place for years. What was the big deal of having this membership card? OMG! Give Me a break. Everyone there knew who they were and neither were doing anything wrong. I hope this employee is proud of himself. If this had happened to a grandparent of mine, Tney would have found the employee laid out in the parking lot.
I would have kicked his ass from one end to the other. Jail or no jail have a little respect for the elderly.
Why wasn't a photo copy sufficient? would they look any different or the information be any different on the origional one that the photo copy was a COPY of?
This really makes Me mad.
idiots.

This is the most ridiculous news story I have read in a long time. Let me see if I have the facts (of course, the writer of this article FAILED to put in the senior's response to what happened. Everything is one sided)

1.) The 2 80+ year olds were known by the management to be members of the club.
2.) The management chose to harass them, and to call the police when they wouldn't produce the original copy of their cards as they demanded.
3.) The police forcibly detained these 2 grandpas and arrested them. What power, they should be proud of themselves!

Sound fair?

We have a president that has only produced a photocopy of his birth certificate even though it has been demanded. I don't see him being arrested.

It's great to live in America where seniors can be harassed by the very establishment that skirts its own laws and does whatever the hell it wants to do.

Maybe the cops should have took both of them behind a vacant building to teach them some respect.
