Before anyone cries too hard at the loss of "Sun City" know it's not the first time and won't be the last. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Toro_ (disambiguation) then http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Forest,_Cal... to see what happens when a town disappears. Besides, it's not like the age restriction (55+) in the core will last forever. That ship set sail when the 'boomers' turned 55 back in 2001.

Sun City started changing back in the late 80's early 90's when more homes were built and a younger crowd came in. I know because I was one of them. Is Sun City, Quail Valley & Romoland called Menifee now?

Get a life Menifee! Stop saying Romoland is now Menifee. It's not, and never will be. Some parts of former Romoland are now Menifee which includes the trailers and trailer parks, the businesses, and the new cheaply made track homes on the land fill. Only those sections of Romoland that Menifee incorporated can be called Menifee now, but Romoland as a small town still exists unlike unfortunate Sun City, and Quail Valley. So they can't remove Romoland from the HWY signs, nor do we need to claim Menifee (thank goodness)!

Get a Life Menifee! Only parts of former Romoland including the trailer parts, the businesses, and the cheap track homes (Heritage Lake) that were built on the landfill are now Menifee. Romoland is still on the HWY signs because Romoland as a small town still exists separate from Menifee unlike unfortunate Sun City, and Quail Valley. So we will never use Menifee as our city as we are truly still Romoland!

If you're from and love Romoland why does your profile say you live in Hemet, CA?:-P I'm staying with my parents in Menifee (the city formerly known as Sun City) and it's nice here, fit for a Prince. ;-)

Yeah I agree. I don't see anything wrong with it. Sure it's changed but so does everything. I'm glad that we have a new shopping center & new schools.
FYI: I was thinking of posting this up on my facebook page.

Heritage LAKES IS NOT cheap. I don't live there but it's a nice area. I do my daily walk around there, it's NICE. Too bad the homes were priced too high.

Because I have a roming profile, and Romoland isn't a City! Only Cities are shown. Get a life! Sun City used to be nice before they let in masses of U55 people, and before Menifee became a city.

Menifee's stip malls are a joke. No proper planning, or traffic considerations were made during the design. It's easier and I still travel past Menifee and shop in Murrieta, and Temecula. They have better people, better service, and real shopping with more conveinent access. I'd rather spend another 5 min traveling to real shops than 10-15 min getting in and out of that strip mall bottleneck.

I didn't say the homes were inexpensive. They were well overpriced considering there were and still are no amenities in the area. I said they were cheap! And the land was a former landfill (otherwise known as a "DUMP!").

Why are you on Sun City's Forum? Your profile shows Huntington Beach, CA.

I'm currently staying with my parents. Huntington Beach is my hometown, not my current city of residence. And if Sun City decides to press the 55+ rule I may need to go back to HB.

Sun City will probably push the 55+ rule, I'm a live-in caregiver for my mom in Sun City, I had to get her Dr. to sign a form stating she needs a live-in caregiver because I am 45. The neighbors might report you, my mom's neighbors rarely come out of their house, they never talk to us, but when I got behind on pulling weeds because I was ill the neighbors complained and someone reported us to HOA.

So what your saying is Sun City would have died a long time ago if nothing had changed since the senior citizens whould have passed away a long time ago without younger replacement people stablizing the area. You would have gotten your wish.....the area would have turned back to open land kind of like Romoland with ranches and a few shacks. Nothing against ranches...

Again, read and maybe you will understand! I said they let in masses of U55 people. That is what started the decline in Sun City. And Menifee finished it off. Menifee is the entity that has forever changed the character and charm of what used to be Sun City. Seniors pass on, and new Seniors' retiree in Sun City, but the town remained Senior focused from the 1960's until Menifee took over a few years ago. Sun City did not need Menifee to keep from "dying" as you so crassly stated. To the contrary, Menifee, in acquiring Sun City's land and businesses, is solely responsible for killing Sun City. And you're also wrong about Romoland. Get your facts straight and stop calling current Menifee Romoland. Menifee has the open fields and shacks now which were parts of former Romoland. Current Romoland has open fields and ranches.

If you notice nothing was ever mentioned about Menifee taking over Sun City or (Parts of) Romoland in the blog you answered. It was just an opinion that you decided to turn into a Menifee issue. By the way I am not as you put it U55. And I do like the fact that some areas of Sun City is bring redeveloped. It's about time some of the area gets a face lift....You may not agree but thats MY OPINION.
