For smaller businesses, this could be the difference between staying open and going under - awesome.

This is also enough to possibly make larger businesses blink - seeing as average annual pay for a McD's employee is now about $17K...

WOW - that is pretty tough. 25k a day per illegal!! Of course if it passes the ACLU will challenge it and some corrupt federal judge will take a corporate bribe and void it.
Well the Courts have ruled that a corporation is a person so it's quite possible that these pretend persons can file cruel & unusual punishment claims against the Government.

After all, the courts have ruled corporations to be a person so what you say can actually happen but I doubt the ACLU is needed becuase corporations have their own lawyers to litigate laws like in this article

Oh. God, I love this. Very interested, the bill says something like "Any business catch hiring illegal aliens knowingly...". Great word "Knowingly". How many employers will admit they knew. But anyway, it will be awesome when small and medium business fill for bankruptcy or leave the state in hordes.

Well the wording gives this: "Hi, we have looked at your books and are you aware that these people are illegal?" "Duh... they are?" "Yes you need to start checking better as you hire and lokking for X." Few weeks later. "Hi, we are back to see if... Oh hey, yeah you still have illegals on the payroll and look, some are ones were alerted you too and guess what..." So now that you have been warned and taught, you have no excuse.

Good. Make the costs significant and businesses will choose not to take the risk. IMO, they should have indexed the penalty to the prevailing wage, so that they don't need to revisit the fine in the future.$25k sounds like alot today, but how much will that equate to in 2150? If they had indexed it to the going rate of pay, it would remain a stiff penalty and would self-adjust for inflation.
