But despite the almost unanimous passage of this bill in the Senate, one immigrants' rights group fears this could cause discrimination against Latinos, whether they be in the country legally or not.

Bill Chandler with the Mississippi Immigrants' Rights Alliance says the legislation will extend racial profiling to the workplace.

"They will discriminate against people who are here legally, as well as Latinos who are born in the United States," said Chandler.

Fillingane disagrees.

"If you don't use the system that we ask for, you're at risk of discriminating just based on skin color or appearance," Fillingane said.

Gee,are Latinos the only ones that might be effected? I do like Filliganes answer.

SB-2037 outlaws ILLEGALS from working for the STATE of Mississippi. Illeglas are a ***National Security risk*** and should NOT have access to State or Government buildings, State Documents, State information, State Grounds or States Equipment. Besides that it is Illegal under FEDERAL law to aid and abet Illegals and Mississippi is following Federal law by mirroring a new State law.

It's always the Latinos/Hispanics who whine and protest against immigration laws, new immigration laws and laws to stop illegals from getting services, jobs and housing.

Why is that?

The "newest" argument about the SSN checking is that it is "discrimatory". WEhen everyone is asked for the same document is is NOT discrimination.

The fact someone does not have one or a valid document for them to be in the United States, is also not discrimination.

The only "discrimination" this would represent is "illegal" vs. legal.

Sorry Hispanic/latino pro illegal alien, anti American pukes, you lose. The judges have already stated this is NOT discrimination, but a legal requirement.

Remember this at election time! Quote:" Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

"Any person who ... encourages or induces an alien to ... reside ... knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such ... residence is ... in violation of law, shall be punished as provided ... for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs ... fined under title 18 ... imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or

* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions."

"Bill Encourages End to Illegal Hiring"

What a crock is that.

Since 1986 Federal Law has prohibited hiring ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Now 22 years later we are "encouraging" employers to stop the practice!

How about we develop a backbone and arrest
the employers then deport the ILLEGAL ALIENS.

AT THE MOMENT, REPUBLICAN VOTERS SEEM PERCHED TO REWARD THIS BEHAVIOR WITH A NOMINATION FOR PRESIDENT.
IF YOU THINK OTHERWISE, PLEASE TAKE PART IN THE ACTIONS NOTED ABOVE.
THANKS,
