This why the DUI laws in the state of South Carolina will always have loop holes for slime ball politicans to slip through. The police are always wrong when bust these clowns, but not when they arrest the average citizen its always a open and shut case. The Senator will demand a jury trial, the breath test will be supressed and he will walk. thats why the lawyers make the big bucks.

Good thing those tougher DUI laws they passed don't go into effect for a while. Wonder how he voted on that?

He should not get off just because he's a senator. Also, although I no longer smoke, the politicians keep raising ciggarette taxes but you never hear of raising alcohol taxes. There are a whole lot more accidents and deaths caused from alcohol than ciggarettes.

I guess he shouldn't have done away with the State Employee raise and then turn around and give himself a raise.
Wonder which Senator will be punished next?

You do realize that police officers think this is very funny to stop a Senator/Governor/Lt. Governor. They got a BIG "kick" when they stopped Lt. Governor Andre Bauer when he was running late for opening the Legislative Session.

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out. The police video supposedly shows he passed his breatholyzer test, and the guy has one good leg... if all of this holds true, then they'll have a tough time prosecuting this case... and this guy (if he was drinking while under the influence) will have dumb luck to get out of charges...

The article said that he was a Republican. How in the heck does anyone expect him to be able to walk a straight line ?
