Terry always made everyone feel at home. A home where you could relax and put your feet up, share your most intimate stories, and know that you were listened to and embraced.

Yes, Terry was a Pro’s Pro, the consummate golf professional who set the highest standard for his peers, colleagues, and aspiring professionals to follow but he was much more than that. He treated everyone who came through the doors of the golf club as family. He was an example of personalized customer attentiveness for any business to emulate, a trusted advisor, a tireless promoter of the golf facilities that were lucky enough to have him, and a loyal friend. Terry celebrated those around him and was a mentor by example.

I was fortunate to work with Terry at Wild Dunes and when he represented the interests of golf facility owners and operators in leadership capacities with the Charleston and South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association. His passion for people, hospitality, for the game and business of golf, and his humor and zest for life was infectious.

Terry established a legacy for so many golf professionals, business associates, friends, and family who will aspire to pass along the open, warm, and every ready smile that welcomed you each time you had the good fortune to be with him. I know I will aspire to live up to his example and continue to tell his story.
