A young man claiming to be a college student working toward a savings bond came to my door yesterday while my kids were playing in the yard. He said he was with I.C.S. and was selling book and magazine subscriptions that could be gifted to a Veteran's or Children's Hospital of your choice, or you could purchase an online coupon package instead. He was very charming and seemed to be telling the truth. When I was looking up the address to send the books to St.Judes, my husband called and when I told him what I was in the middle of, he told me to look up the company b/c he had heard of a scam going around. Low and behold as soon as I Googled the company, several scam and complaint reports came up. Do not buy anything from these sales people and please do not let them in your home. Also be very careful of any info you offer up about your work or what school your children attend. Protect yourselves and be safe!

while at work my wife got scammed by two young men with the same college story. she has suffered a stroke in the past and it is easy for these scumbags to manipulate her. we lost 40$, and will not pay the amount due.these people need to be brought down! their lucky i was not home, and she is lucky something far worse could have happened to her.

I am a very generous person so i do the same thing with this young man came to my house so my husband and i gave him a check worth $45.00 with still a balance of $47.50 but since i read this, i will not be able to give. I ask and pray in Jesus name that they change their ways, mind and heart in doing this kind of sinfulness. I thank God for giving me His wisdom and knowing the truth.

They need to have a solicitor's license. You are allowed to ask to see it. Do not give cash or a check. Also, ask them if they can wait and come back the next day after you check them out with the local chamber of commerce, Better Business Bureau, etc. If they say no to any of this, they are probably not legit.

There was a guy came by at our house yesterday selling a magazine (no car). He introduced himself as "mike". My cousin who is recovering from stroke was the one who talked to him and ordered a Video maker at the price of $20. Gave him a receipt but the guy told him that the receipt must be sent to the address written on the top right corner to get his order (Delray Beach, FL). But the guy named "mike" entered his name on the receipt as "Charles Vella" as an INDEPENDENT AUTHORIZED AGENT. Be safe everyone. Don't let any strangers get inside your house.

These 2 have been working for Midwest Circulations for YEARS! You are telling me this is a normal company?! Nothing Scandalous about it right?! Justin Angermeier is a monster! This guy needs to stay locked up from the general public. Not only is he a kidnapper he is also a woman beater. beating his babys mother to a pulp every single day, I am surprised she is still alive and thanks to this happening she was able to get away from him with the kids. If any magazine crew come to your door call the cops right away! You never know who you are dealing with, it might be a kidnapped teen.

Frightful experience indeed!
There was a home invasion in that neighbourhood of late.

Such a sad state of affairs, but they caught the blaggard who committed this. Even in the states, crime is bad, I hear.

Easy way to stop door-to door solicitors. Make up a business card sized plastic sign up that says "No Solicitors or Salesmen". Black background with white Courier Font capitol letters. Put it on the door frame post right above the doorbell push-button. Works almost all the time. They see it and turn around an walk away.

I felt it was a scam as the young man was making his sales pitch. Still I gave him the twenty dollars just to help him out. I didn't want no magazines. I wasn't planning to send the other half. I thought I was doing a good deed. Now that I come across all this comments I feel that I just help a scam to go on. I feel bad.
