Relocating to Summerville?

Hi Everyone. I am thinking of moving to SC and set up house before my husband retires. We are a Law Enforcement family(3 kids,1 high schooler,2 middle)that is looking for a safe,quiet community.We are interested in the Summerville area. Any feed back would be much appreciated. We are born and raised Californians but are SICK of living here. Crowded,traffic,crime,weather, blahhhhhh. Again thanks again for any help you can give.

Summerville is lovely, great schools and neighborhoods. But it is growing fast, traffic getting worse. Nothing compared to California's traffic in many places...but Summerville has probably come close to doubling in the last ten years. Summerville High is wonderful school...as is Pinewood Prep

I think you will like what you see. Summerville has an annual festival and is affectionately called "Flowertown" for the enormous displays of azaleas in the spring. Truly spectacular!
