The Summerville WWTP is a government run facility, so of course we have a right to know what is going on there you silly troll.

all citizens have a right to know what goes on at any government facility. in one form or another there are city dollars spent there, county dollars spent there, and federal dollars. so even if there are no city taxes, all the money spent there doesnt come from the city and we all have a right to know.

it takes more citizens making these people more accountable for how our money is spent. thats the problem with this entire country. none of these government officials are held accountable

BAck to what I was saying about the sludge that gets distributed to farms outside of the city, do you think the other citizens in the county deserve to know if it's causing contamination outside of the city?

Really I was wondering about certain vehicles crossing over the ga/ala line and returning shortly,so whom do we call or notify if we are in fear of contamination EPA? Maybe the farmer down in ala is using this on his land?

The farmers in Al.were using it, but quit. Al. regulation stoped it. They were dumping too close to the river. The EPA does their on "regulation" here in Ga., but their assesment is what they want people to know. I have done reserch on this subject and have concerns. For instance a dairy farmer in Augusta had many of his cattle wast away and die. He sued the EPA and came to a monetary aggrement. There have been other suits and some people have concluded toxic sludge to be responsible for animal and human conditions that are detrimental. So, EPA probably just tell you it's safe but there are studies to show otherwise. Viral infections have been passed into soil and into water as have high metal contaminants. Cadium for instance....thats why they're pulling all the shrek glasses from McDonald's, they contain harmful levels of cadium. Google toxic sludge, you'll get some of the pros and cons.

Thanks AGSTUDENT for your comments. We never know what damage a lot of things are until harm has already been done. You seem very knowledgeable.
