Dear Eye(obviously the 3rd) Again, go to the previously mentioned web site that was posted and see the problem. I am an educator, and am not defending Pullen. I am however trying to inform and create a pro-active environment rather than make useless, provocative statements. FYI When it comes to the education of any child, there are NO "miscellaneous issues." All monies designated for the education of children should be valued and carefully distributed from the pay grade of superintendent to a campus custodian. Our children are suffering because of this very issue. What our school $ is being spent on should come to light!!! Perhaps an expose in a forum rather than this is in order.

As I said before the BOE and Pullen need to go. By the way__ Pullens office staff makes more than me! I have a degree in education. Thanks for the web site info!

I heard this afternoon that the boe will meet tonight to discuss pullen's raise and contract renewal. They have a work session meeting tonight and a board meeting next Monday night. Pullen announced last week that he has a cancerous tumor in his colon and will be out for a month following next Monday's meeting. I am very sorry for this unfortunate event and will pray for his recovery, however, the boe has a job to do and must make the best decisions for our children and teachers. They cannot make the best decisions if they do so with sympathy and guilt that the super. has laid on their hearts at the last minute. I'm worried about my own fate as well. I am a CC teacher and I have heard of several teachers (with excellent performance records) being told to look for a job by the super. and asst. super. Why would teachers be told this informally, without board approval and in an open forum? Did these teachers disagree with Pullen or the board on some issue? Did they voice their opinions? What is the criteria being used for letting teachers go? Is it money? More money could be saved by cutting at the central office than any place else. Secretaries are making more than teachers! Our county is very small. Why do we have an asst. superintendent? I am told that she seldom comes to work and when she does it is 10 or 11 am. She is one high paid woman for Chattooga County. She is also an Alabama resident, therefore she doesn't pay Ga. taxes! Why oh why would the board agree to increase Pullen's pay, while teachers are being cut?

If you were told to look for a job, I would do just that. You will be asked to resign, if you do not, they will tell you that they will terminate you in a board meeting and put a "no rehire" in your record, which basically kills your chances of getting a job as a teacher again in georgia. Check it out if you dont believe me, ask some of the teachers that were let go due to budget issues this past year. Oh, by the way, when you resign it kills your chances of drawing unemployment which is the reason they ask you to do it in the first place. Nice county system you huh? If you do not resign, you are brought before the board and officially "Terminated". Then it goes in the paper and everywhere else to humilate you for not saving them the money it takes to pay your unemployment. Not to mention the no hire on your record basically ends your career.

I'm an old tcs boy, but i've been reading these threads about the county school system and i've got to say that if this is the way employees are being treated ...hell, i'm at a loss for words. this is wrong. this is dirty. this is not as christian people should treat others. the people doing this will someday have to answer to God for this. i read where the county superintendent said he didn't have time to worry about people, he had a school system to run. what the hell does he think a school system is? buildings and books? this one is truly a moron.

i've read a few motivational books in my time, written by successful leaders of various organizations; business, sports, military, ect. not a one had a chapter about treating employees like crap and your organization will prosper. but every single one had a theme of treating employees as the most valuable and important parts of the organization and then the organization will prosper. happy and secure employees are the best employees. but, hell's bells, sounds like there's a bunch of richard heads runnin that school system. some changes gotta be made for things to ever get any better. this old trion boy won't be voting for any incumbents on the county school board come election time.

You are so right. Please don't vote for any current BOE menber. They all need praying for, but I just can't make myself. What goes around comes around! I'm so tired of being treated like dirt and I work for the county. The supt acts like he is a ceo with a cold heart and no feelings!! Just loves to treat people like crap and the BOE allows it and wants him too. Heard he was sick. Don't know if I can make myself pray for him. God forgive me!! He has helped ruin so many good people and doesn't think twice about it. So my prayers are going to all the people that they have hurt in the county. Trust me it's a lot of people. It's unreal how EVIL the BOE and Pullen have been!!!

please, give some examples. let the truth be known. if enough people hear of these atrocities maybe things will change. but folks have got to hear it. start here. start now. tell what you know to be true. then tell every voter in the county about this websight.

I know the super. has let go employees because they did not agree with him or they attempted to expose him........one example would be his curriculum director 2 years ago! Sharon Beasley (don't know her married name) pulled personnel files and reviewed them. She exposed his salary, details surrounding him hiring his wife and paying her a $2000 supplement. She confronted super. and was told she could be charged with stealing gov. property and fired. He had her escorted out of the building when she didn't reveal all that she knew! Super. knew how people suspected him of wrong doing and suspected Ms. Beasley was out to expose him. He had tech. director, rick clifton to set up a nanny cam! School system paying to be CSI! PS....all charges were dropped on this lady!!

Too much crap on this topix about Chattooga. Glad my sons go to Trion. I know issues exist there as well, but damn. This is pitiful! Yall seem to be worried about who makes more money than who. Need to be worried about education.

I could careless how much money someone is making as long as test scores are good and our children are not having to take remedial courses in college. Our kids need to be prepared for CRCT, writing tests, Graduation tests and End of Course Tests......they are not being prepared and they are failing...this is why taxpayers are questioning everything and every one in charge.....we're hunting answers and needed change........EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO OUR KIDS SUCCESS!!!!

BOW WOW, I think you missed the point! It's not so much about who makes the most money, but how much money is being spent on some of these questionable salaries! This money could be better spent on our children.

I have a child in the special education program at CHS. My chids rights have been violated because her individual plan has not been followed. After getting nowhere with the principal, I intend on going beyond the superintendent and board. I called a board member after speaking with the super to have my issues addressed and not ignored! I DO NOT WANT THIS ARROGANT SUPERINTENDENT TO GET A RAISE OR A NEW CONTRACT!
