I believe Agenda 21 has worse sounds in it.

"Most Americans will remain unaware of the implications of smart growth and Agenda 21 until after it is promulgated in their own backyards. Ironically, these plans are more insidious than the Eminent Domain ruling by the Supreme Court in the case of Kelo v City of New London. Under Eminent Domain rulings, property owners usually receive compensation for their losses.

Conversely, smart growth municipal plans, required by statute, enable municipalities to change zoning laws and engage in other regulatory actions that devalue property, restrict off-conveyances, and otherwise erode property values without payment of any compensation to the property owner."

Do you think that will happen in this county? If so it may be time for a change.

Agenda 21 implementation

" In the United States, programs are already in place to achieve each of the objectives. The United Nations rates as "very good" the progress of the United States in each of these categories."

"Agenda 21 embraces virtually every aspect of human life; it is being implemented aggressively in the United States."

The county lawyers are handling this case because insurance does not apply, they are the plaintiffs and not the defendants, they grabbed Mr. Emory by the shirt collar and are dragging him to the court house at the taxpayer expense. How much has it cost so far, and what will it be two years from now. Well it does not matter the county has plenty of money to help a few friends, and they can always get more from the bank. This is an election year.

It could also be political posturing since this was announced just before the election. Trying to influence the people that will benefit from this???

Political posturing or promising. If it was a promise that would be a big no no.

Is anything happening about this or has it been dropped? As I understand no one stands to profit financially expect Emory. Winters stated to the Summerville News in July that the residents deserve easy access in and out to their homes. Bet a good chunk of property tax revenue comes from these homes and properties.

If the county has no money how can they afford to buy property and pave a new road

If the county "had no money" the county employees wouldn't be working at all. Money may be tight but there are operating funds.

So are you saying that those people don't deserve to have a decent road?

If they deserve to have a decent road they need to be decent enough to buy it theselves and not expect the county taxpayers to buy it and then build it for them. They knew what kind of road was there when they built their houses.

A completely irrelevant statement, Mr. Warbucks.
Its just a matter of time before someone causes damage to their vehicle, due to traveling on that road.

Why is that my and the other tax payers problem? Did not the people who built houses on that road know what shape the road was in before building there?

That's just ignorant to say. Did it ever occur to you that property tax revenue collected from THEM helps to pay for maintenance on YOUR road?

Yes Mr. Winters and the county lawyers have filed a lawsuit to take property belonging to the Emery family so they can build a road for a few friends, at a cost of about three ouarters of a million dollars, however the county has plenty of money so lets get a paved road for the six houses in that one mile stretch, and get the Emery property and a large legal bill for the taxpayers

what's wrong with the road they use now to get to those six houses? Where are these houses?
