Hopefully they just do a widespread drug test instead of random layoffs. My husband worked there briefly & it was full of cracked out druggie felons.

they just need to do whatever it takes to keep from laying off hard working drug free men like my husband. my husband busts his ass everyday. and drugs of any kind, he does not do.

Maple is realigning, and in the wrong ways. The buddies and family and friends of the "HIGH UPS" are getting jobs and the others are being laid off or downsized to a lower position. I hope that when these "NEW" people get their jobs back at the mines they worked at (which will happen eventually) that Maple has noone left!! Good people being let go, to help friends and family....I hope they FAIL completely and the HIGH UPS loose their jobs!! And yes, my husband was one of the people cut although he was told, We don't want to loose you.....Yea Right. New company coming soon!!! YEA

Jake, this is what my husband was told. He wasnt told anything about anybody getting laid off or fired. He was told he would be contacted and they would tell him what day and what shift to report back to.

I've known lots of union mines to close. Unions are weak men that pile up together and throw tantrums until they get what they want.

Gossip site, a lot of men are being laid off, and used as scapegoats for others!! Keep this in mind. There will be about 30% of you employees not called back this week. The list is made and ready. If you still have a job you will get a call sometime Friday-Saturday, and told what you will be doing and what shift to work. They are going to 4 and 5 day work weeks. and no more overtime and no more bonuses. Also, in about 30 days they will do this again. Just so you know. This way there is no severence, and no lay off packages. Oh yea, and also, you can count on not working for a whole month, taking so many days off a month to "save" money!! But hey, you still got a job huh?

Not sure where you are getting your information wrong but not all of it is correct. And yes I would know 100% for a fact. And I will agree this is nothing but a gossip site to spread what some think are facts but actually "hear-say" but if you feel the way you do then why are you on here doing the same?

Enough already....Its coal mining people!! And the mines are in trouble right now. Good luck to all those who are being cut, laid off, or taking pay cuts!! You deserve a little more respect than that!! But you are COAL MINERS, you are proud and respected. Hopeing for the best for all of you and your families!! There are a lot of companies doing the same thing, so its not just Maple, or Walter Energy, Once again, enough, its a hard life, and when life throws you curves, you drive better!!

WOW...ok. So someone did get touched by my post. I will be the bigger person and apologize because, well someone has to take the "SH___" mistakes upon themselves, but maybe everyone will just watch and see who has the facts, or even close. We should know, what by Sunday? Anyway, no hard feelings, just thought some of your employees should get a little heads up, but your not the only mines failing right now, so to all those mines struggling...so sorry. To all those hard working coal miners, I'll be hoping for a speedy recovery for all the mines, and hope that everyone is ok!! Are you ok with what you've done to people @ know your facts first?

I just think it is wrong to let men. Qualified men loose jobs because of affirmative action law suits because we all know SHE does not
