Don't know who but there was a North Carolina tag run on the scanner. The medical examiner was called and at least one was transported to the hospital and sounded pretty bad.

Prayers are with the families.

That is so sad. That is the worst intersection. There needs to be a light put up that would just turn when cars on the Mt. Lookout road were ready to enter Rt. 19, but this wreck was supposed to be a one car wreck. I was just thinking how bad it was when I came through there yesterday. Please be careful, Rt. 19 is wild this time of year and especially now with the first part of the month and vacations starting. From Beckley to home, I almost got hit 3 times and none were my fault, crazeeeee!

Was it at the Mt Lookout road intersection or Mt Nebo? I shudder when I go through that Mt Lookout one and cars are coming out onto the highway. That is terrible and more than likely people going on vacation or going home.

From the Sheriff's Office press release: "Linda W Booth was driving a 2000 Chevy Venture van south bound on US-Rt 19. Mrs Booth ran off the road into the median and when trying to correct the vehicle, lost control, struck the guardrail and rolled over approx three times coming to a rest on its top. Mrs Booth died at the scene and Mr. Booth was flown to Charleston General by Health Net"

there was also a yellow lab in the vehicle which was seen running north bound on rt 19. It is about 1 yr old and answers to the name of Ellie. Some Mt. Lookout residents have been searching for her but was not able to find her, reports say she was possibly injured since blood was seen on her while running rt 19. The animal control is also searching for her so if anyone sees her please contact Nicholas county animal shelter or someone from the fire dept, mention that this could be Ellie from the accident. It would be nice if we could help fing her for the family, this is such a sad day for them.

The dog's picture was just on the Ch 3 news and the family is begging for it's return. I pray that Ellie is found and returned to the family. That is so sad about the wreck and someone losing their life and so sad that a scared pet is out there alone somewhere.

Has anyone ever heard if the dog has been found yet? I sure hope so. Can't help thinking about the poor thing being lost out there somewhere and the man losing his wife and pet. Prayers for them and their family.

I pray that the dog is found and returned. I'll bet that family would be so glad to get her back. I know it won't bring the lady back, but the lady had to have loved that dog to travel that far with it. Let us know if you hear anything. I'd love to click on here and see a big "it's been found!"

No Ellie still has not been found but she was seen yesterday at the scene of the accident undoubtly looking for her owners. I have heard that the man has been released from the hospital and plans to come back to the area to find her soon. When she was seen the person tried to call for her but she ran away, her owner says she is a very shy dog so she will probably be hard to catch but she is still in the area.

That sucks. I hate for this dog to be outside without its owners when a thunderstorm is about to begin

I went to Walmart at Fayetteville today and I slowed down and looked and looked to see if I might catch a glimpse of her somewhere. Then I cried both times, I went past there thinking about that poor, scared dog that doesn't know what to do. It is soooooo sad. I sure hope that man does come back and finds her. If I had any inkling of where to look, I would go back and look. Just keep praying and maybe she will be found and returned to her owner.

i have spent several hours at night out walking thinking she might be scared and only come out at night, looking, one even thought i was a prowler. Elle is either no where to be found, or worst yet, possibly dead someplace. but, lets keep hoping!
