I was on methadone for about 3 years. I guess It's better than being on pills but if you're really trying to get off everything I wouldn't recommend it. The clinic in beckley doesn't encourage u to get off it and when u do the stuff is in your system for a couple months. Effects your sex life and makes u gain weight. Makes u wanna sleep all the time too.

Great med to aid in sobriety. Of course clinics don't want you to come off methadone, money they will loose. Naltrexone along with therapy is a great way to stay clean!

Methadone helps but is just as expensive as pills. Suboxone or subutex are really helpful I'm on subutex and it helps alot. I have never tried Naltrexone. I've heard good things about it. Might be worth a try.

Naltraxone also helps with alcohol addiction, but is not addicitve itself. I've never seen anyone sell Naltraxone on the street.

I just got out of rapid detox and they put me under and gave me naltrexone then I had to go to a retreat then they gave me half of a 50 mg naltrexone pill to take every day. On the second day of retreat I decided to throw away the pill and not take it but here's the problem if you take opiates during the first three days you will get sick. So I waited five days the problem is you don't get the high like you expect to get because you are clean matter of fact it almost feels like an orgasm that wants to come on but doesn't release, and is enough to drive you crazy and this is after five days. You are probably asking why did you go through detox I thought I would get my High back. I am stupid I spent $18,000 you know how much dope I could've bought with that Just to get back to what it was in the beginning when you get high. The problem is that you don't get back to the first day like you were people say that you do it's a lie. By the way rapid detox is hell to go through it's not like when it is on TV I crapped that when I woke up I crapped and threw up all over the entire hospital room There was 20 nurses and three doctors because I was seizure in up it was so bad if I could do it over again I would not have gone the only time you need to go is that if you really want to get cleaned yes you will get cleaned but the next two weeks you still feel like crap And now I have severe depression and back on opiates With no high

If anybody needs some answers or has a question please fill free to text or write me up and I will answer every question that you may want to know. If you take a note track sound pill why you are still using you will go into extreme withdraw so bad you will not be able to control it and the only way to stop it just took almost overdose and even then it may not even stop it the first three days you will be out of control and somebody will have to be around you because you will die from lack of fluids and Body Seizures. And you won't be able to get high or even take away your withdraws for the next three days and if you try to use any opiates you will intensify the withdraws So if you are thinking you will use one pill to know where your tolerance so you will get more high think again it doesn't work like that Let's just put it this way I never cried so much in my entire life then I did this last two weeks

You sound like you're trying to talk people out outta getting clean. There are better reasons for getting help than refreshing your high. Real life is hard work. But its worth it.

Don't give up. Sometimes you have to walk through darkness so that you can reach the light. Keep fighting your demons. Eventually you will win as long as you stay consistent & don't give.

You are right I probably did say stuff that I probably shouldn't have said. Sounds like I gave up all hope already man but just going through all that I think I just had to vent because I never really talk to anybody matter fact you're the first person to even respond back to anything I said from anybody. Having them detox you in the maximum of pretty much it your detoxed in five minutes but he still feel the residuals for weeks And residuals are what you would normally feel if he detox at home. I'll try not to give up hope I appreciate you texting can't believe anybody even responded to my text.

Naltrexon implants are the best they recommend you get them for 1 year with some meetings or counseling. If a person has money for pills they have money for naltrexon.

Naltrexone Inplants do work if you stay on them a year ,if you go back to using drugs after that then you choose to live as an addict .

The depression from the naltrexone is so great I can't take it I would rather be back on opiates can't go through this depression, I think they need to do more research, I can't take it the depression is just as bad as when I had my brother die That pit like emptiness in your stomach you feel all the time and now I'm on week three and it still has not gone away or week four, I can't remember. Why did I do this my life was okay before and everything was going fine here I decided to try to quit and look what happened now everything is gone downhill!!!!

Some people experience depression when they quit using drugs... because they now have to face all the life problems that they didn't have to deal with when they were numbed out all the time with the drugs. Could well be that's what is causing your depression and not the naltrexone. Sounds like you are now having to deal with the pain and emptiness of losing your brother. That's a terrible thing for anybody to have to bear. Maybe using the drugs was a way for you not to have to feel that pain, but now the pain is back and hard to deal with. Do you have a counselor? If you do, tell him/her about how you're feeling. If not, please look into getting one. I know you feel terrible now, but it doesn't have to stay that way. Don't start back on the opiates - THAT will only take you farther downhill, and you've done great so far to have three weeks clean!
