Dr. Mudd, if given a media outlet, would you be willing to share your perspective on coal with more people in West Virginia?

A coalmining family

Why would a child be talkin about this at school anyhow? But no my husband works there and they r only down for a week. Hello this is Nicholas County West Virginia. For our guys that don't have a college degree it sure does give us a nice living. He and all the other "Deep Miners" work very, very, long hard hours for our living, so if u are not or never have been an underground miner please mind your own!!!!!! We are also well aware of the dangers of his profession. Yea I say profession because it takes a certain kind of man to make a good coalminer! They preach and practice safety everyday!! I know this because like many people my husband comes home and shares his day at work with our family. I find it very interesting too. Yes many miners have lost their lives over the years and it's very sad and very unpredictable, but almost every job has its dangers! Your local banker could be killed today in a bank robbery or maybe in an accident on his way home to his family!! We never know when, where, or how!! I'm a very firm believer that each and every one of us have a time and place already in the works!! This comment is a very opinionated comment but until you have lived and done it you know nothing!!!!! I honestly believe some people are down right jealous of the homes we live in, the trucks we drive, the lifestyle we r able to give our children, the money we try and save for college degrees, so no they don't follow in daddy's footsteps because it's a hard living to make. At 40 most of our husbands look 50, but not to bad of a job from a stupid ol country boy right??!!! I swear I believe that's why u go on this topic and comment negatively!!! Your damn jealous. Say what u want we don't care!!! Remember one more thing about my country boy and others, COUNTRY BOYS WILL SURVIVE!!!! Btw I'll extend the appreciation you feel on to my husband and his buddies for helping to keep your ass warm at night.

not you user name genius, names of equip. and operations and so forth and not comment count, comments you have made regarding mining operations. I didnt know you would misunderstand. I guess some people are just a little slower than others.
By the way 5 years is not really enough to make a comment.

5 years is not enough by what YOU think is sufficient only. To me its just the right amount so get used to it. Don't like the comments, don't read them. Pretty simple.

Thats right, i'm not. I moved on to better, safer, cleaner, and a much more lucrative way of life. Don't need to be a coal miner to see the writing onthe wall. As a matter of fact, being a coal miner just dirties up ones ability to see what is REALLY going on in the world with coal whether you like it or not.

Well you see, when the economy hit bottom in 2008, and people across the U.S. lost their jobs, alot of them did what they could to make ends meet, took on other kinds of work, went back to school, etc, etc. I would like to think that the hard working miner who is fairly smart would have the ability to do the same. Sure, the pay may not be as good, but hey, you do what ya gotta do, right? Good luck when that time presents itself. Looking to others for help may not work out to well in today's economy ya know.

Not looking for your help just asking what your job is now.
