Don't know Kevin or his family but I'm so sorry to hear this news. How wonderful that his family can be so proud of his heroic actions. Hopefully knowing he sacrificed his life to save others will give them some peace. Thoughts and prayers for his fiance' and his family.

To know Kevin, what he did was no suprise. He would always go out of his way to help if he could. He did leave a powerful message behind, we should all be willing to streach our hand out to others when they are down or in need. Kevin was older than me, but when we were kids he let me tag along with him and my older brother, he would always include me in helping (more than likely getting in the way) in building the club house, etc,, he was the guy who taught me how to get moms fingernail polish and paint my hotwheels and matchbox cars. As people grow older they lose touch with each other, but that is the way life is when everybody has thier own families to support and take care of, in alot of cases you can see your childhood friends and family and it is as if they are a stranger to you. Not Kevin, he was always a good friend and a cousin who I am proud to have know and shared memories with.
He will be missed, but his act of courage and his compassion will never be forgotten.

My dad is definitely my hero. & he saved my brother & his fiances son & nieces. He always said he would take a bullet for us & this really showed us that he would. To watch all this happen was such a tragedy, but I felt God had to bring our family together 1 last time. Watchin him walk out in that water was the scariest thing I could ever imagine. I just wish I could give him 1 last hug & kiss & let him know how much I loved & admired him. R.i.p to my hero & the best man I've ever known besides God. Gone but never forgotten.

You should be very proud to call him Daddy. My condolences and sympathies to you and your family. It's obvious that he was truly a great person and now will forever be remembered a hero as well. God bless.
