The Planning and Zoning Commission and the Recorder handles the permits. If Shaffer had anything to do with handling or issuing the permits, Jim's Used Car Lot would now be a gambling joint. The Planning and Zoning was the ones who made a mistake when they said that you could not put a gambling joint in at the location where Jim's Used Cars is located. When they, the Planning and Zoning, realized they misread that zoning area, they immediately corrected their error and said that a gambling joint can be built in that zoning area. By the time they corrected their error, Shaffer had already went off on one of his tangents and threatened the Recorder, Mrs. Parsons, with a reduction in pay to the point where no one could work under those circumstances and she withdrew from the race. Where did I say I am campaigning for Kallai? I have never met the woman. I don't have any notion that she should be Mayor.

Are you aware that the CVB is creating a position so that Pam Cline can return to a Exec. Director position there?
Tony Benton and Susan Hillary have told several people around town that Pam Cline will be an Exec Director and Maryanne Taylor who oragnized the Monte Carlo gambling shindig will be the other director. Pam was at Biddy Basketball game yesterday, saying that she has the job. Pretty cool that they know this since they haven't even posted the job yet!
They don't need 2 Directors but since Pam can't actually do work, they will create a fake job for her and then hire someone who will actually work. What does she have on these people that they would do this for her?
Your theory about Pam eventually being recorder might be right though. Get her back in a position where it appears she is important and then push new recorder out and pam in. It is the only way this lady could ever get a job. She will follow whatever she is told. She isn't smart enough to think on her own. She has sucked the Mayor, Mike Steadham and Gary Withee to get where she is with the CVB. Steadham and Withee are tools.
