Dentists and Insurance

I have had two appointments with the dental hygenists in the Colony Dental office. The first hygenist told me I needed to have my gums stripped and a deep cleaning done. I was to come back the next day. When I returned I had a differenthe hygenist who said the procedure did not need to be done. She did, however, finish cleaning my teeth. My insurance company (Humana) allows for two cleanings a year. Upon calling Humana, I found they really don't have a good insurance plan that covers this zip code.
I have also heard that there is a bit of a racket going on with dental hygenists who find ways to charge us extra for things we don't need done. So, I have two questions: First, where are the best dentists in this area? Second, where do you have insurance that is reasonable that would cover such things as crowns, etc. if needed? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
