My husband, 3 year old son and I also just recently visited and we loved it as well. It's hard to find a nice family neighborhood with amenities and we like the convenience of the area - schools, shopping, etc. Have you visited any other "family" developments in the area? We would like to explore all of our options before making a decision.

my daughter and son in law have been looking at Parkwood for a couple of years. Be careful when looking here and make sure you have a contract. Developer agreed to built the house they wanted, and now won't build for that cost. Unfortunately, they did not get a contract and took his word that he would email them everything once they got back to their home in PA. Now, he has their down payment, and keeps telling them he will be returning the money, but nothing yet. Hopefully it will work out.

I also have visited that community and was thinking about buying in there Although it appears really nice I have not been hearing such nice things about the builder. Is it true that the builder is raising the price after down payments have been made? After reading some of these posts I think I may want to invest with a more reputable builder and company. I would be extremely careful if you are thinking of buying there. What a shame to steal from people just trying to make their dream of home owning a reality.

The builder changed the price after the down payment, but there was not a completed contract. He said the changes they wanted were not included when they placed the down payment. Then, he said the pool was not included and it is shown right on the picture of the floor plans in the newspaper!

Let me start by telling you the villages of parkwood is wonderful community!!! i have lived here for about a year now and i am an owner not a renter and when you are dealing with a builder you must read the fine print if you do not understand then have a real estate lawyer look everything over BEFORE YOU PUT ANY MONEY DOWN!!!The homes here are beautiful and there are very few renters who become owners very quickly I have met a renter here and the builder is verrry strict and goes through a credit and job check..NO TRASH HERE!! Just nice people and families. The homes are very good quality and the pool in the advertisement is for advertisement only i do have a pool and i paid for it i dont see any Gated communities giving away pools for free!! The parents here love that the kids can play in a safe enviroment and you have a community pool and club house and soon a playground. If you want go next door to bison valley and have your kids twiddle their thumbs all day and pay common charges and not even have a pool clubhouse or playground.. so if you are going to bad mouth the builder for a misunderstanding about the price think about the hard working people that purchased a home here already and who love it!!building a home is a hard process and you have ups and downs but when its all done it is paradise

Buyer Beware. Take the contract to your lawyer FIRST or you will be sorry. DO NOT TRUST them.

Don,t even think about putting your hard earned money down on the Parkwood Property. Unless you like giving it away and get nothing in return. You are promised a nice beautiful dream home the developer and builder sit down with you and pick out. You pay off the lot put a deposit down contracts are signed money is passed. Everything is worked out and the next thing you know you get a letter saying they have cancelled the contract and they are keeping your very large sum of money. So don't fall victim to the Parkwood scam like many have been scammed for many thousands of dollars. If you dont believe me reseach it yourself. Its not hard to find the information on the internet. Oh, and by the way most of the houses out there are being rented from the developer.

Hello... People You realy put money down without a contract? The builder is fine if you dont read through your contract expect suprises(duh). I mean he is no angle the guy is here to make money(like all builders(duh), but he is upfront about everything if you ask him. Dont be foolish. and come on people do you think your going to get the top of the line up-graded house for the base modle price. Its like a car add. do they show you what you wish you could have or what you could afford. I leave you saying It is a nice place I do with the gym was open 24/7 since you need a key card to get in. All in all CYA people and you will get what you expect to get dont be foolish Oh and I Love it here 5-10 min in a car and youll be at any place you could imagen this area has it ALL!

I have a home for sale in The Villages of Parkwood. Gardenia model- two level home. Closed on it after building was completed in January 2010. I rented it out after 11 months of living there.(my personal life changed-but I loved the area) It is a great family community for people having relatives in THE VILLAGES retirement community. Close to the Charter schools. My renters are now moving, so I am selling the house. The home as many upgrades. With buying a resale there are no surprises in the cost. I had only a few minor problems with the builder, but things taken care of ASAP! My house is ready for a quick sale and closing at the end of Nov or in December. I am motivated since I live outside to the area. Upgrades: laminate wood style floors lower level, carpet upstairs, bathroom floors have tile, quartz Zodiac counter tops throughout (including bathrooms) Bar counter in kitchen widened to allow bar stools for extra eating area, cabinets upgraded, appliances upgraded to Whirlpool Gold in black including French door refrigerator, pot lights in kitchen, dimmers on some lights, paddle fans in bedrooms & great room, blinds on windows, laundry closet area on upper level with tile floor, extended patio on back, fenced in back yard for privacy. Great home for a family.(4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, 2 car garage, open concept) Contact me @chix1010@yahoo.com for any info

Another etymology links it directly to the Irish term Geab ar ais (pron. g'ab er'ash), gab ar ais (pron. gab er'ash), back talk, backward chat; fig. back-slanged speech. Gab,(gaelic), n., to chat or talk a lot. Geab (pron. g'ab) n., chat.(Donegal.) Geabaire, n., a chatterer or blabberer. Ar ais (pron. er ash), back; backwards.[2] However, this Irish etymology was suggested by Daniel Cassidy, whose work has been widely criticised by reputable linguists and scholars. The terms geab and geabaire are certainly Irish words but the phrase "geab ar ais" does not exist, and the word gibberish exists as a loan-word in Irish as gibiris, defined by Ó Dónaill as "Gibberish. Gibiris chainte - unintelligible speech".(Ó Dónaill, Foclóir Gaeilge-Béarla, 630). Thus like many of Cassidy's derivations, this proposed explanation appears quite improbable.

Well actually I love this site for the most part but I do hate ppl posting names and others private info. They should make it where you have an idenity and have to sign on, plus you should be at least an adult to access this site. Most of the crap that is posted on here, you would think its little children playing but its not, its mostly adults. Very immature ones at that. There definetly needs to be some sort of regulation though, its getting ridiculous!!! You just have to weed through the post and ignore the biggest majority. Your not the first to want to get something done about this site, but I do hope you are the first to succeed http://www.tblop.com

I have a family member who lives in Villages of Parkwood. I personally helped in picking out the model my family member chose. The models are beautiful and they are there to give buyers options and ideas. This builder has given the people of this community an incredible buy for their money. I suppose some do not realize what they have. We talked to several neighbors before my family member decided to live there and all raved about the community and how well their transaction went from the contract to the closing. It really is a shame to see people try and drag a builder through the mud when he has done nothing but help those in the community. Our transaction went very smooth. The house turned out beautiful and I am very happy to say my family member made a fantastic decision to buy and live there. I would and have recommended Villages of Parkwood to several people. Hopefully this will help others and those who have left negative comments problably are just people who are always unhappy.
