Hey I was wondering if anyone knows anything about an old house off of 484 out towards Marion Oaks that has a spiral staircase and it leads to an underground cave or tavern? One of my friends said he went out there one time but can't remember where it was because it's been 6 or 7 years. Thanks!

I just went to a cavern mecca in the belleview area, off 484. I was in the are for other reasons, when i noticed a random sinkhole/cave on the side of the road. I stopped and checked it out - pretty neat. It was obvious that the area was prone to have more. While i was waling around a man stopped me and told me about a place not far that had many more. I went to investigate and found the place he was talking about. It was behind an old house that is made of limerocks. The place is called Cool Breeze farm. They are super serious about no trespassing, so i didn't get a full tour of the area. If you like caving the area itself is really cool. 29d 2m 4.85s N 82d 4m 17.04s W

I know the locations of many caves in the Belleview area. Some are for sale. My tribe purchased an area and we are opening one of two cave entrances on the property to explore. If anyone is interested in helping out, can keep the location a secret and is not an NSS member contact me. omegaltd158@juno.com

i have been in many caves in south ocala, santos, and belleview... i was really depressed when me and me friends snuck back to explore the old Ocala caverns right off 441 only to discover a more than necessary steel door welded shut... i realize why its there but i wish someone would buy the land and maybe reopen them....

there is a cave off the right hand side of the end of sw 52 street over by the right by belle chase and lemonwood, not too big but decent size with plenty of crawl spots..

there is also a very decent cave in the santos bike trails over by the vortex pit. small crawl spots and also some larger rooms..

there is also one in brick city park but is closed and only open for tours, i have always heard of one being behind the vacation host inn and kinda in the area of 441 and 475, over there by the new road built leading out to trinity catholic high school, i am interested if any one has any info on that cave, back when they were doing the old surveys in the news paper and showing maps of what the new road would look like they showed that lake there, and then some caves near it, but that was yrs ago and i dont remember where they are on the map... plz post info on these caves if you know anything...

thanx again for the cool breeze farm cave that was an interesting one.... looked like an old gang hideout or something... thanks for the coordinates "john from fruitland park" a man near by showed us some smaller caves down the road... but that entire area HAS to have more caves in the woods near-by.

Hey, I wanted to throw my hat in the ring. My friends and I have been to several caves, but are extremely interested in finding more. Yes, the cave behind Lowes is quite cool, I imagine it was an old spring at one time - be careful however, many of the super small crawlways aren't worth getting stuck in, as we found out the hard way lol

There is one across from Ocala Speedway. There is a small road/trail JUST passed the speedway coming from 326. You can park in there behind some kind of gas transfer unit. E-mail and I will give better directions to save space. But the cave is pretty cool, minus the garbage...thats the worst part about caving known spots. It has some neat rooms and there is water if you go deep enough, we waded quite a ways through the muck and hit a dead end.

Of course Cool Breeze off of 484 is alot of fun. Just very illegal, so I will just say a friend of mine has been there many times. I've tried to track the landowner's phone number down, without luck.

There are places I KNOW have what is called a karsk environment within them (you can google Karsk conservitory, basically means a florida cave environment), but the land is usually off limits and I respect that. Every time I see construction digging up the right kind of rock I want to snoop for entrances.

Please e-mail me @ skating2salvation@yahoo.com for some information exchange, I can better direct or inform about what I know and vice-versa. My team and I always try to leave with everything we came in with and use safety protocol at all times, just to show we don't want to go in and party. Hence a public forum may not be the best spot for all cave info. Take it easy and God bless!

We just purchased a second parcel. There is a forming sinkhole on it. Across the street is yet another entrance to a cave. The cave we have been working at to open gave me a clear view inside, there's a room and a passage six feet high so an adult can stand up straight once inside the narrow entrance. Hopefully on our next trip Sunday, the blocking rock will finally be removed and then the exploration of the cave system can be done.
Lucky Cave off SE47 was sold but now Tucks is for sale. Roadside is in front of Lucky and Dragon's Lair is in the area.
The area my tribe is trying to raise the funds to purchase is catacombed with caves. We have found well over 20 sink hole entrances so far.

Thanks to Jeffrey and his tools, the rock that we have been working for months to remove from the cave entrance is gone. Captured on video. It was found on the north side the floor is 5 feet below the ledge I stand on, there appears to be a passage or pit below that very ledge. I was hesitant about trying to enter without knowing if there was a rock face at the widest entry point. On the west side is a ledge about 2 feet done but a projection of rock made it a little too tight to enter. On the south side I was able to look in and see a room between 25 and 50 feet wide with a gradually sloping floor covered with washed in clay, leafs and dirt. If we dig out the dirt at the entrance, we should be able to enter through the south side without having to remove more rock. We return Sunday to continue the work.

On February 21, only two of us returned to the property. We put in some new fencing, cleaned up more garbage and got a good look at the cave entrance on the neighbor's property. On side is an exposed wall of rock with the entrance along the base. It looks a lot like Rock Springs in Apopka without the river flowing out. The water does flow in however and during periods of heavy rain fall a water fall can be heard either from water flowing over the rock face or falling into the cave. The big rock was moved into it final position as filler in the drive way and we found an acceptable location to place the cabin which will allow weekend stays and wildlife studies.

Usually, the far east all the caves are generally filled with water. there may be a few dry passages but mostly they are springs.

March 07- I managed to enter the cave. The passage on the north side of the sink hole is gothic, tall and triangular with a fairly wide base that heads towards the the second sink hole and the one across the street. A number of people can fit in the hall at one. The south and west has a horizontal bedding plane or so it looks and the main passage drops below the ledge and goes under that dirt filled room. I dug through some of the washed in dirt trying to find my lost goggles. They must have been washed further down the passage. I'm posting photos at facebook, at wftv and Ocala starbanner.

We returned to the property on March 20. This time I was able to climb over the obstruction in the cave passage to get to the end which suddenly turned into a slither space with a dead bat hanging over it. I started removing a dry mulch that fills a passage heading to the west and got better photos of the clay and dirt filled chamber to the south. Unfortunately, i couldn't spend too much time in the cave with it raining for most of the day and a thunder storm coming in. To mu surprise, water was not flowing down into the sink hole and pouring into the cave. I removed some rocks, some trash and at least 12 square feet of the dry material before having to leave. I just posted the new photos at face book and WFTV forums.
