they actually have the nerv to call it florida's friendliest home town.nothing but a bunch of grumpy old men and old hags tht complain about everything.Mean spirited people from NY-NJ-CONN-MASS-AND THE REST OF THE northeasterners. You treat people who work for the villages like crap, but your better than us.What kind of people leave their family and friends to come to a place just because its warm?selfish people.Selfish people who all go to one place to live is the villages. One good thing, your time is limited thank god.its not all villagers just 90 percent.

baloney......you get what you give......99% are very nice and apparently from your other post you have a job because of all the Villagers........you sound like the meanie to me and I hate to tell you this, but your time is limited, also......maybe more so because of your attitude. Stay in Eustis, work there and stay away from the villages....you sound very jealous and envious and I understand why- Eustis is grungy

I have lived in the Villages for 4 months now and I don't have any problem with people that live here. For one anywhere you go you are going to have some people that are more snooty then the rest. There are people that have worked really hard for what they have and then there are ones that where born with a silver spoon in their mouths. I just have a problem in general with the whole redneck thing and there is alot more hatred in the south. Believe me, my parents brought me to Florida, kinda wish they never did. That is only because of all the racism and hate in the south.

people in the south will say hi walking past you on the sidewalk. Most of them will help strangers when they are in trouble. So people in the south are more friendly. If you live in the villages you hear the people complaining about grandkids coming to visit for only a week.(THE BEST X-MAS LIGHTS I SEE IS THE GRANDKIDS TAIL LIGHTS GOING DOWN THE ROAD.)THATS ALL I EVER HEAR,WHAT GRANDPARENTS and parents leave the kids to go to a place where its warm.Life is short you should be with your families. But selfish people don't think like that. Then they all move to one place called the villages.
And if you live in the villages most villagers will treat you better than they treat family members.

I've worked in the Villages for 5 years, and I can honestly say that the people here are the rudest that I've met anywhere in the country (granted, most of them come from other places). I've worked in retail since I was 14 in many places and I've never experienced the level of rudeness, entitlement, hostility, and just general meanness displayed by the people here..not only to the employees of the establishments they frequent, but to other customers as well. On the bright side, it's given me the incentive to go back to school and find another line of work in a different location.

I have owned a house in the Villages for 4 years now, I purchased the house after a lifestyle week! The people were friendly and very helpful, I haven't seen any of the rudness that posters mention, nor the "snooty" stuck up attitude they complain about! What I have noticed was the jealousy that VISITORS show when they are in the town squares sucking up the ambiance and space I don't even go to the squares on special days like St. Patricks day or New years eve. etc. Seems like the locals and the other developments don't have the same "goodies " as the Villages ! So when complaining about the rudness of the Villagers, MAKE SURE you are talking about a RESIDENT! I would love to see the squares for residents only!

Living in Florida is an easier lifestyle than back in NH. I love N.H., but it is now impossible for my husband and I to stack four cords of wood, lug it into the house, mow two acres of lawn and weed wack a huge banking in front of our home there , also take care of a 16x20 in ground pool so our grandchildren would enjoy our many cookouts. I love the Villages and people at least in the historic section are wonderful and friendly. We both worked extremely hard back North to be able to enjoy our little home down here. Never got anything for nothing and never would expect it either. Never have we felt entitled. We love our grandchildren and welcome them any time they want to visit. I would not judge the entire Villages by a few people . Life Is to be enjoyed and if people are laughing and enjoying the Village Squares, than that is a wonderful thing. ALSO, IF SOME PEOPLE HAVE A CHIP ON THEIR SHOULDER , SOMEBODY SHOULD KNOCK IT OFF AND IF THEY HATE THIER LIFE AND ARE JUST PLAIN NEGATIVE PEOPLE, THEY NEED TO GO TO COUNCELING OR GO TO CHURCH SO THEY CAN GET A LIFE. THANKS

I am heartbroken when the grandkids leave to go back north,. I am also courteous and kind to all waitstaff and any worker in The Villages. Our tips are always 20% or more, and we contribute to many local charities. Most of us have worked long and hard for many years to deserve our little place in the sun. This is America and we are Americans and as far as I know, we are free to live anywhere we choose in our final days. You, too, will have a final day. I guarantee it. I hope it is a happy one for you, in the home of your choice.

I see claims of villagers being kind to their servers and giving big tips. Try spending some money at local businesses in Lady Lake and Wildwood so us locals gets some more benefits of the villages. Some of the people I know that own businesses needs your money. I would too, if I worked but social security is good. I means a benefit more than drinking at your bars and going to Katie Bells which I really like to do.

Lived in the Villages for 12 years and just moved. I agree that I never seen such rude people ( especially on roads and paths). Daughter also works as a server, yes they are rude and cheap. Wasn't always that way. Friendly up until 2006-07. Then It got too crowded and people fought over parking, space in classes etc because there was not enough. Greedy builder has taken away the buffalo and parades and charges more for everything. Plus building more so it will be more crowed! I'm with much nicer people now that I moved.

From your posts, you sound like such a LOSER. Go back to Wildwood and get a job.
I predict you will end up in jail at a young age, if you haven't already taken that route.

We go to many restaurants in Wildwood, Lady Lake, Fruitland Park , Leesburg and beyond. We also shop stores in those locations. Most Villagers do.

Why would we go outside The Villages ? We have everything we want here. I stick to my golf cart. If I can't get there in a golf cart, I'm not going.

I witness rude and spotty behaviour every day in the villages from some of these generic a-holes. I bet most of them do it because they know assault on a senior is a felony and they don't have to worry about someone taking a baseball bat to their ass. The senility excuse is getting old too.
