DG to open in Summer Shade

Officials with the Dollar General Corporation confirmed Tuesday that they will be opening a new store in southern Metcalfe County.

Well! I can hardly believe it myself! I had heard this too, but didn't believe it. You know how easy things get started! I think that's great though. I think our little town deserves some growth. We need it and there couldn't be no better time! I can't wait.

Hey, looks like Summer Shade is getting uptown now. They have a bank, cafe, gas station, framing store, florist, and now the Dollar General coming in, next thing you know, Walmart will build a supercenter there and put all of the small businesses out completely...

Not sure, but someone said that it was going in on 90 across from the power plant. Before you get to the cemetary on the left where that little house sits back off the road. My question is does anyone know if it's just the Dollar General or is it going to be the dollar General Market where they will have groceries too?

Ya I think it's great that Summer Shade is growing. I would hate to see any of the small businesses here, but there really isn't many that these stores could hurt. Maybe Travelers if a super Wal-mart comes, but that's not saying too much! Change will be good for the town.

You must not have been to Summer Shade for a while... framing store moved, florist closed! You forgot the funeral home and new country store!

there is something else coming to summer shade. can't wait. as well as the dollar store. someone said that tommy thurman didn't lost know time to put a sign in his window for rent. lol what about the other building across the street from tommy store? what is in there? good luck to summer shade.

Won't take long before you all find out how bad Dollar General treats its employees. If you were smart you wouldn't shop there and run them right back out of town.
