I am looking for names, dates, details about any case in hopkins county that is related to an intoxication manslaugther and/or failure to render aid charge. I am trying to find out how many cases are in hopkins county and what the details, outcomes where of each cases and who the DA's or attorneys were. My son was killed by a drunk driver and I am now digging deeper into details of cases here in Hopkins County. I would appreciate anyones information. Thank you for any information you can give me. I am a mother against drunk driving.

March 7th 2007. judson weaver was drunk and started a fight and drove off with a person hanging on his vehicle and didn't render aid. Martin Braddy the district attorney dropped all the charges after 3 years of crooked acts.

what kind of crooked acts, that sounds about right but if your really not guilty he will try his hardest to put you in prison and with no proof, just someones word. what is this world coming to where all the guilty people are free and the hard working people have to look over thier shoulder wondering if they will get took away by the crooked law enforcemet?

What bar did he leave from? Was that his first DWI or did he have previous charges before that happened.

Do people not understand how to do a simple internet search? Google is absolutely amazing. You had the information you needed all you had to do was a bit of typing and you could have found the information yourself!

I am not looking for dirt on anyone. I am researching facts on how many intoxication manslaugther cases are in Hopkins County and the outcomes of those cases and did the person fail to render aid. I would like to go back the last 10 years. Thanks to everyone responding. I really appreciate you posting those websites for me. I am not the best at computer stuff but I am learning quickly.

All court matters are public record and you can go to the district clerks office to get that information. If they can't get it for you they will tell you where. It's part of the Freedom of Information Act.

I know of 2 cases involving Intoxication Manslaughter and I'm fairly certain one involved your son. The two guys who were indicted by the grand jury were: Phillip Scott Edwards and James Blake Spinks.

Under failure to stop and render aid: Although he was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death, Daniel Acker was originally arrested for failure to stop and render aid.

And you have already been made aware of Judson Weaver.

There may be more, as 10 years is is a long time. Again, instead of asking for information on Topix, your first stop should be to the District Clerk at the Courthouse. You might also want to try both Justice of the Peaces and even the County Clerk (they are located in the "new" Sub Courthouse aka the old Fidelity Express building).

Ok look it was the sun dance they were leaving from it was more than just the regular I don't like u crime. The black
man wasn't killed the guy is on probation for quite a bit of time and no he has never been in trouble before it was a first. And that's why he didn't go to prison. Do some research and you too can find out this information. And for all who don't know it wasn't a hate crime.

Hi my my name is jonathan i live in hopkins county tx and my best friend was josh herring the guy who was with Phillip scott edwards when he wrecked his truck intoxicated it killed josh instantly and phillip's ear was slightly cut and required a few stitches it's been hard dealing with it josh had two boys who were 2 and 4 years old who now don't have there father there for them. As josh's friend i talked to phillip at his funeral and told him that this could of happened to any of us and that we was all guilty of getting drunk and driving somewhere now why he decided to try and take a 30mph corner at over 100mph i dont know but i said it's how you live your life after this and what you learn from this that counts.. Well I guess that went in one ear and out the other because the year and a half he's had to learn something from it he's speant partying getting drunk taking xanax like there candy and even leaving a bar one night with his cousin and wrecking there vehicle which he didnt get caught for because the vehicle was registered to his cousin's name so long story short he went to court this week and was sentenced 10 years with eligible parole in 180 days so he will probably get parole and be put on probation after he serves 180 days in jail and to kind of compare here not to bring my personal issues in this i got pulled over one day and had about four marijuana roaches on me and was charged with poss of marijuana had i not got bailed out i would have had to serve 90 days in hopkins couty half of what he's gonna have to serve for killing someone while he was drunk and driving the district attorney was martin brady and phillips lawyer was Frank long.. I hope this is useful for you and I am deeply sorry about your loss and will hope prey that justice is served.

My son was Josh Herring. He did not deserve to die that night at the hands of Phillip Edwards. I don't think that 180 days is long enough to save someone elses life. I hope his next victim is not your child because he will kill again and that is what he did he killed my son.

Phillip Edwards made a mistake, that he will live with the rest of his life. Phillip loved Josh and Never Ever, ment for him to get hurt or killed!!!! Phillip is a good dude that was dealt a bad hand. For whatever reasons Our Lord called Josh home and Phillip happened to be the person driving.
