I thought I was never again going to have the chance to rape and murder innocent victims, but because of your accepting my plea bargain, I will be back on the streets, and therefore able to attack all the women I want, in just a few short years.

Uhm - since some of you don't have any idea how the justice system works, the client has plead GUILTY. The plea bargain was offered to him so that he would plea guilty and it wouldn't go to trial. He won't get much of a lesser sentence then if it was taken to trial. Unless of course you WANT a chance for him to not do any time in a not guilty verdict.

So your saying that he'll receive just about the same sentence for one count of assault with a deadly weapon that he would if he went to trial and was found guilty on "multiple counts of robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment and making threats". I'm not sure where you got your legal expertise but I'm thinking that you’re incorrect in this assumption. This is just a case of the prosecuting attorney and the judge wanting the case to take the path of least resistance and lightening the workload.

Hey Irish, I don't know how it works in Killarney, but if you "take a plea" in the U.S., you plead guilty to less than the original charges, thus reducing the jail time than if you're found guilty of all the original charges at trial.

the plea bargain is worked out between the da and the creeps laywer. the judge usually would not be involved. so, we are back to the incompetence of the da's office.
