<quoted text>Yea, myself and my wife rode in the Shady poker run last fall. I was unable to make the Boone run though. Thatwas one I was really looking foward too. But, mom ended up in the hosp. and couldn't go. I was out for a couple of hours today, and it was a pretty good ride. Made it home just before the rain hit. I got lucky on that one. I usually carry gear, but I knew where it was comming from. You and your husband are welcome to join us this year. We will be posting flyers when we start the poker runs.We are also planning a couple of BUG RUNS, and a couple of MIDNIGHT RIDES too.
That sounds fun, never been on a midnight run before, where will you post the flyers? We'll dfinately have to meet up and go for some rides, we are plannning on going to fl. in august if all goes well for a rally.

<quoted text>So what are you saying here? Are us "crotch rocket" riders not serious riders? And just what kind of "bad name" are we giving you? Trust me when I say that I am very serious when it comes to riding my sport bike. We have just as much rights to any road as you do on your harley or metric cruiser or moped! If you have lost your dignity then then you must not be much of a rider!
I agree with you, I think every rider should be treated equal on the road and that you can't judge a biker by the bike they ride, there are sport bike riders that obey the law and drive safely on the public roads. And then there are touring bikes that drive like a-holes, its definately the riders not the bikes they ride. We all deserve equal respect.

Thatís what happen to people who donít know any better, if you where in Europe you will see that motor bike and cars share the road, if gas continue to go beyond $5.00 a gallon like rest of the world already is , we might see more mopeds, scooters, motorcycles on the road !!!!! More than cars. I do not own a motor bike, but if gas continues to climb I may buy one. We all should respect and share the road. Like the Europeans. The United States should take some pointers from the old country.

What I'm saying is that(it may not be you)these people that go to Shady Mountain just to see how fast they can take the curves hurts those of us that are out there to enjoy the relaxation of the ride. Not all "crotch rocket' riders are bad, it's just the ones that go to extremes to try and proove that they are "hot riders" and have to show off to everyone.

It all boils down to the same statement, we all have to be responcible and look out for each other. No matter if it is driving a car or riding a bike. But, when in a car, look out for the smaller vehicle.(THE MOTORCYCLIST)

I'm truly sorry, but I have no idea who you are talking about. I am not A singer and couldn't carry a bad note in a good bucket.

I will agree that some people try and showoff up there and they do give all of us a bad name. I have seen cars and trucks doing the same thing on that road. I am no angel when it comes to spirited rides across. But I always ride within my own skill level.

Bottom line is more people are out enjoying the sport. Therefore more crashes will occur everywhere.

You are absolutely correct! I, in my younger days, have rode that mountain and enjoyed it. But, it's as you say,Cars and trucks do the same. We all need to use more common sense when we are on the road. Never the less, Ihope to see all my fellow motorcyclist out on the roads enjoying the ride no matter what the reason. RIDE FREE,RIDE FOREVER!!!
