man, the trib loves its corrupt politicians.

First, they endorse the highly corrupt Dan Lipinski. Who cares that he got the job just like Stroger got his. Or all the corruption allegations that have come out.

Then they praise the fat man who shielded a child molester and wrote the transportation bill to include plotting a highway near his land, so that he would have a huge retirement account!

Then, they endorse the corrupt Tim Baldermann!

The Trib likes corrupt politicians. I don't get why, I guess they sell more papers...

The 10th district general election race will also include Green Party candidate Dave Kalbfleisch. His website is www.electdave.org .

Dan Seals in the 10th District? It would be nice if Dan Seals lived in the 10th District. He cannot eve vote in our district but he wants to represent it. We do not need carpetbaggers. Go back to you own district where you belong. And shame on the once great newspaper, THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE, for even recommending this.

Lipinski, Balderman, Oberwies...just shows to go ya' that the Trib is part part of the problem with politics in this country and not part of the solution. Now wonder the MS has so little credibility nowadays - they always back the status quo and are completely out of touch with the electorate.

On the plus side, now I know who NOT to vote for!

The Tribune keeps trying to push the fiction that Danny Hastert's term as Speaker was a "civil" one. Hastert said Tom Daschle was next thing to a traitor for opposing Bush; that Kerry was Al-Qaeda's man; that Democrats opposed defending this country. AND he was defender-in-chief of Tom DeLay and helped sell the halls of Congress to lobbyists to an extent not seen before in modern times. The Tribune's kind of guy, that Denny Hastert.

He was right about each one of the democrats your mentioned above. He did, however, let the page sex scandal happen, which helped lead to the republican loss of the Congress. For that I'll never forgive him.

I had a good friend who was a Democratic Page during the late 1970's. What happened during Hastert's watch is the tip of the iceberg on what goes on with some our elected officials on Capitol Hill. Some of them chase everything in skirts and sometimes pants.

Jerry, For newspapers this is a great town to write about. With all the crooked elections and corrupt politicians here you never run out of material.

"Hastert represented his nation, his state and his district with honor, and stands as the longest-serving Republican speaker of the House in history. He was a calm and civil presence in Washington."

Total bullshit. Hastert presided over the most corrupt, dishonest and greedy Congress in U.S. history. He was a lackey for Tom DeLay and others in the House, and did nothing to stop them from degrading and disgracing their party and their country. To top it off, Hastert looked the other way as Mark Foley molested interns in the House, even though he knew about Foley's actions long before it became known to the public.

The Tribune editorial board will continue to lie about Hastert and other Republicans to cover up their crimes and dishonesty and pretend it didn't happen, and is not happening still.

Judy Biggert is another radical feminist dressed up in Republican pinstripes.

She thinks, acts, and legislates as if women were the only constituents in her district.

I can't fathom why any man would knowingly vote for her.

No, Judy only represents about one-half of her district - the female half.

What the district really needs is someone who represents ALL of us, not just women.

How can the Tribune endorse Dan Seals? Seals' excuse that he cannot afford to live in the district is absurd.

Harry, the Tribune likes to endorse candidates that not only do not live in the 10th District but also can not vote in that District. At least Footlik and Kirk live and vote in the 10th District. Shame on the once great newspaper, The Chicago Tribune.

Dan Seals comment that he can not afford to live in the 10th district speaks loudly that he has no idea where the 10th district boundries are.
I guess the fact that he doesn't currently live in the district that he wants to represent should tell us that he is confused, but can he really say that he can not afford to live in Wheeling or Prospect Heights?
He is in the race to gain visibility, not to win. If he really wanted to win he would move.

The Trib takes the word of a "wrestling coach" Hastert and picks a dairy farmer for Congress? I'm sure dairy farmers are nice people as neighbors, but this Oberweiss guy is a right-wing nut job! He wants to run the Federal government like a business? Anyone who has worked for most companies would prefer the government for getting things done over most companies, talk about politics! We don't need anymore idiots with pre-conceived notions and full of himself to bog down the government. What we need is open minded caring representatives, of the people for the people and by the people!

The Tribune harps on about the crookedness of the Combine, but then they keep on endorsing it at election time.
