Navy seeking alternate airfield for touch-and-go training

The Navy received letters of interest from six airfield operators in Franklin, Emporia, Suffolk and Dinwiddie, Chesterfield and Accomack counties last year, said Ted Brown, U.S. Fleet Forces Command spokesman Here the Navy uses Franklin Municipal Airport, during a Field Carrier Landing Practice demonstration flights in late 2010.

I wonder if the Navy has ever thought about using the Fort Monroe Army air field for carrier landing practices!!
