We thought that the fireworks show was slack and dull and the finale stunk. The 3rd was a dumb idea and why wasn't the grass cut along the highway. Next year if the funds are low, ask for donations and make it a spectacular show. Don't have the a crowd show up like they did for a show like that.

Grass cutting on Hwy-515 is a state function and due to budgetary restrictions the state is cutting back, there was an article about this in the Chattanooga paper this week or last.

'Course there may be a correlation between less taxes paid and less services provided.

Totally agree with Happy 4th shut the heck up Stunk! Atleast there was a fireworks show! Many city's are not having firework shows due to the economy! Hope you remember what the 4th is all about! It's about honoring those men and women who did and are fighting fearlessly for our country!

I didn't go, but my son and daughter went. They said it was a very good fireworks. I think it was done on the 3rd because the people the county gets to do it charged 1/2 price since it was the night before. Anyway, on the 4th, so many people have their own, I thought it was a good idea.

Actually it's about the formal Declaration of Independence, which had to be backed up with some blood letting.

But like Memorial Day and Veterans Day it's good to remember the price of freedom.

Cheers.
==========
In the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain...

...During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the American colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia. After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. Congress debated and revised the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4.

The fireworks were great. I took my grand daughter for her first, they're from Atlanta. It was a well done show for a small town. I enjoyed it much more than the 'big city' shows.

the fireworks were great but I do have one complaint and it doesn't have to do with the show itself but what was left afterwards..my daughter and I went to the park this morning and there was piles of trash just left laying there...please folks keep our park looking good by picking up your garbage..there are trash cans located all through the park..there was one pile that had at least 12 plastic solo cups just left laying on the side of the road.

I really do not understand why we had the fire works on the 3rd, it kinda took away from our family tradition of going to see the fireworks after our cook out. Needless to say, I did not attend the fireworks show on the 3rd of July. I had my own fireworks for the "4th of July"

Are you kidding me? That was a fantastic small town firework show. I think it was well put together and fun. It was no Disney show, but it was worth getting out to go see. I hope they do it again next year on the 3rd.
