Can not believe he was issued a permit to bring in a 12yr old repoed doublewide where it isn't zoned for mh. This town spends a million dollars+ on a golf course then we issue a permit 2 put a valueless home in the same addition. Zoning clearly states no doublewides so they issued the permit under "residential manufactured home" which is a home that is not "pre-lived" & does not have a permanent axle, must have same materials as a stick built house. The kicker a "residential manufactured home" must not devalue others property. When this MH gets here everyone's home in the valley view addition will depreciate $50,000. Kansas statutes clearly states a doublewide is not a "residential manufactured home" everyone is welcome to come by a see the "permanent foundation" that was approved by bob forson @ 1306 E. Illinois. This foundation is NOT 18in. Above the grade of the center of the street or roadway nor is it continuous, unpierced except for required ventilation & access. Daron at city hall can pat himself on the back for not being able to READ zoning laws of ulysses & know the difference between a MH & a non pre-lived in "residential manufactured home" which doesn't have a permanent axle.

You live next to little Mexico and your worried about a mobile home! You my friend are an idiot! Look out your window, past the wild pack of dogs that run wild, past the mexican selling corn on a stick, past the chicken wire fences and realize that none of your houses appraise over $40,000.

I just want to say "don't judge" a lot of hard working, successful people lived in mobile homes to start. WOW needs to get off her high horse and not be some self important, jugdemental, snot-nosed, brat! What makes her any better? She needs to take a good, long look at herself in the mirror and try to focus her attention on fixing what is in her heart. I know who you are WOW. Be careful how you judge others because when you stand before God, he will show you the same. Think about that please.

Why are you whining about this on Topix? No one here gives a sh!t about your problems. More to the point, no one here can do anything about it. Stop being a little b!tch about it and visit with the zoning board if it means that much to you.

You sound so smart! Why didn't you apply for the inspecter's position? What an asset you would have been to the city. Make sure you apply when the administrator leaves. You should make another 'brave' stand like this and have it published in the paper. Make sure no one knows who you are, just like with this post.

The city gave him a permit to put a house in a residential area. Thats what they are supposed to do. What she is complaining about are the covenants. She doesn't understand that the covenants aren't worth the paper they are written on.

If you don't like what is next to you, then buy it. That's how you control what's near you. Otherwise be quiet & be a decent neighbor.

So "Credence" & "AGREE" I heard that my name was floating around on topix, so I came on here to see what the fuss is about! I DO come from a single wide trailer & I nvr have said that I was above one! I'm NOT chicken shit either! I'm not going to lie I'm pissed about the double wide that was moved in across the street from me. Our neighborhood isn't zoned for a MH nor is it a part of TX ave. Everyone here in this neighborhood is trying to protect our property values. My single wide sets in the middle of ppl that have moved in & think that laws don't protain to them. I have a few old neighbors that take pride in where they live! When I moved I sure in the hell didn't bring my trailer & set it in a "R1" zone! It's called RESPECT! When moving in a MH check zoning laws! I'm not disrespecting MH, I'm just stating that when you buy a piece of land, that land has rules & regulations that you must abide by, you can't do whatever you want with it.

Alicia, take it up with who you bought the land from. They are the ones that promised covenants, not the City. This is not the first time this has come up in Valley View history!!

it has nothing to do with covenants, it's a ZONING issue! This area is zoned "R1" it's not zoned for mobile homes! Plus my name is spelled ALECIA
