What is with needing Ids of everyone that comes in there. Went in there to buy beer and my friend came in after and said they needed both of our ids I don't understand this. Went to spirit after that they are cool as shit. Fat bitch is just mad cause all her kids have babies before 17. Pretty sad!

What's sad is you're too stupid to appreciate ABC can shut them down for selling $10 worth of beer to someone who might be underage. It's really not that complicated.

No one was underage they just didn't have their id. This town is sad really. A mother is mad cause her children had children out of wedlock before 17. And even if youre an underage person they shouldn't card cause you know someone of age while you're in there

Sounds like a personal problem... In both posts u mention her children having children before you think it's appropriate - What's that got to do w selling beer n asking for id?

Look the case was 2 ppl walk in dodges one person walks with the other because that's wat friends do. They walk up to the counter hence one friend had not even touched the beer. First thing she says is I need to see both of your id's. um no ma'am that's not how that works u ask for the individuals I.d. Who has touched the alcohol and is purchasing it. That would be like a teenage daughter going to dodges with their mother and her i.d. Ing mother and daughter u never hear of that. Or it would be like me I sell ammo and guns lets say I have a customer purchasing shells and he has a friend with him I don't say I need to see both of y'all's I.d. That's not how that works or someone purchasing a gun and me saying I need a background check of everyone that's with u. That is her being an ole bitty. Simple as that

They came in separately, as stated in the first post, but no matter. Neither friend #1 nor friend #2 had legal identification on them. Were either of them driving w/o a license? Hope not. Spirit has a sign "id everyone", so the fact that this person purchased w/o id was an oversight, not the clerk being cool, etc.. ABC has sent underage kids to purchase alcohol in the past, and this time of year they are even more likely to do so.

I've been nothing but nice to this lady and her family and they've been nothing but rude. I had my id. And my friend didn't touch anything. Just talked to me. Funny thing is my friend doesn't even drink.

I don't know who the woman is you refer to as a fat bitch, but I doubt you've "been nothing but nice" to her. Here you state you had your id, but your earlier statement was "No one was underage they just didn't have their id." Your sincerity and honesty are questionable...

The justification for this is that it is a relatively common tactic for a person who is of legal age to purchase alcohol for a friend, family member, or complete stranger who is under the legal age. There is a legal precedent where stores and employees have been found legally culpable for damages incurred by a drunk driver who attained their alcohol through second party purchase. In addition to this, federal and state representatives often attempt to purchase prohibited materials in this fashion to ensure that stores and employees are in compliance with state and federal laws.

So, if you're not doing anything wrong, provide the ID.

The seller of the alcohol can request id, no matter if they saw someone touch it or not.

The seller can ask them to stand on their head - doesn't mean the person has to do it, but they can still ask.

Yes they can. All the seller has to have is a reasonable suspicion that it is a straw purchase, they are buying it for the minor or someone unable to purchase the item themselves for whatever reason not themselves, and the seller can flat out refuse the sale with or without ID. It doesn't matter who did or did not touch the product.

Do yourself a favor and research the liquor laws before jumping someone's ass because they followed the law.

If you would pay attention to the signs at the counter of EVERY Dodge's store. It says if you look under 27, you are getting carded. Apparently you don't look 27. They are protecting themselves from a pretty hefty fine. This is pretty much how things are done everywhere, so carry your license with you. That would solve your problem.
