For everybody's sake, I do hope Fiat will find a purpose for this plant. I had an 89' Chrysler Fifth Avenue that was built there and it was the best car I owned. Beautifully built, excellent quality, beautiful Black Cherry paint. Look around and see who is the problem in this country. It is the lowlife, traitorous Toyota and Honda buyers who used our tax dollars to buy that crap during the Cash for Clunkers program. I am not an Obama fan, but, in his defense when he said, "buy American", the whole world came down on him. Especially the protectionist countries, i.e., Japan, Germany, Korea! Now, Toyota is boasting about the American Traitors buying their crap over ours with our money. Too bad these paid off Motor Magazine and Consumers Report don't report the fact that Toyota has had more,"Recalls", than all other Car Companies combined. Go Figure?

To bad alot of the folks who voted in OBAMA,were the ones buying the Toyota and Honda with tax payers money as well. It is time to be protectionists, other countries tax the hell out of American products so to support their own economies and jobs and We here in America should be doing the same thing! BUT...its the same folks who voted in OBAMA ( liberals ) who are buying the foreign cars as their hero gets critisized around the planet for telling America to buy America and other countries bitched about Protectionism, that and OBAMA taxing Chinesse tires 35% are his 2 best moves and of course his protectionism speech didnt work so well with taxpayers money, but as time goes,so will word or mouth of how much better American quality has improved especially Ford,GM has done well, but, taxpayer bailout will cost GM more new sales then it promotes IMO.

.just saw this an the question I always ask lately is are we just delude ourselves that we can keep driving card. Amazing how much impact driving has , it is a way of life it seems, all the pollution, an money for a car, not to mention, road building, road upkeep, must be mind boggling the real cost both financialy an environmentally. Seems like a high speed public transit as well as having a walkable urban layout has become a thing of the past. I read that holland has one of the most developed transit system as well as bikeable area, so you get of train or bus an bike to your destination. Heard they got better health care seems like we consider a car freedom which is why we hang on to them

I hope fiat comes to kenosha also, but hopefully to build a high speed rail linking kenosha , racine , an milwaukee. If thy do build some engines hope it is some cutting edge high gas mileage 50+ engine. I just think that america can not continue down the path of a car culture, its impact is jus to destuctive on earth, beside who can affor one $5 gallon gas coming. I don't know if I seem weird but jus watch. I do believe in buying local. We have tratorsin this country that is for sure no one cares about US worker , they jus look other way at illegals an outsourcing to china. Like everyone in america is gonna go to college an be a pencil pusher or mouse clicker. Don't know what is gonna happen to this country., US gov, needs to give some health care or huge tax discount to those of us that pay our own. We are really out of touch with reality. A lot of people got credit card problems cuz they jus can not make expenses. Wake up america, has the britishe empire taken overd us again an we are jus a colony???????? BP oil in america makes me wonder. The devestation they did on that huge oil spill in gulf of mexico????????

All machinery is being taken out right now, some was sold and the rest is being sold for srap. The buildings are going to be torn down after this and sold for the scrap metal. It's a shame that one building built in 1996 and the other built in 2002 are being sold for the scrap metal, the other older buildings I could see to tear down. Then the land will be given to the city to be cleaned up of over 100yrs of ground waste and later developed.

I know of one engine plant building in kenosha of of 52nd street, is this the only one in kenosha that needs to be torn down?? How would you rate kenosha for real estate investments?? Any input would be appreciated , thanks. I been working up in kenosha for 5 years, jus wonderding if I should take advantage of the low real estate market for apartment rental investment?? Thanks again

On 11-26-12 they started tearing down the buildings. I was surprised that they started on the newest building, only 12yrs old. R.I.P, 1902-2012, 108yrs of auto and engine manufacturing.
You can change your name from old to new and new to old, but I still wouldn't be too "surprised" to hear that you are WRONG again! hahahahaha
