Not sure why the post is saying it comes from Fennville but I am from Coldwater. In reference to someone who mentioned that if anything important had been decided about this case, it would have been in the newspaper. REALLY, have you read the Coldwater paper in the last few years. I spoke with Sen Wahlberg recently and he stated he was not even aware of any factory in Bronson, Mi having fired 146 employees. I then asked a writer for the paper who covers many local events why nothing is ever in the paper this important labor issue, he responded no one locally makes the decisions anymore. I have noticed nothing has been written since our conversation either so even when an important issue is brought to their attention it does not get investigated and presented in the Coldwater Reporter.

Well, I see that even after people on this thread were given the actual National Labor Relations Board case number to look up the case and read it for themselves they could not stay on track and talk about the important issue. You're back to the childish banter that is so prevalent in this thread. This entire case is not about quibbling over the contract. It is about an illegal firing of 146 employees. Union member or not, if a person is fired illegally and it can take this long in our system to fight for their job back, that is what should be the concern of every working person.
Well, ya need to explain to your buddy that you don't get support buy bashing the people you want to honor your strike. This argument means nothing to me, I have my job and it isn't there. Just don't expect a lot of support with Mr. Mouth running around town.

Gosh. It sounds like no one is interested....Did ya check the radio stations, TV stations, Sturgis paper? How about the Detroit Free Press, now there is a union town that may care about you.

Ralff, to whom are you referring to as my buddy? I'm simply stating some facts. And once again, apparently you are unaware of the facts and you do not comprehend what you read very well either as you continue to refer to this as being just a problem because of a union being involved. Once again, union or not, if a company decides to not play by the rules (as in "Labor Relations") then anyone can have it happen to them. I don't think it is a matter of no one being interested and if it is, shame on them. It is a matter of the union members being too quiet about the whole situation for fear of being accused of it being their fault. In case you have not read the case decisions by the NLRB, let me update you. The NLRB has ruled in favor of the fired employees four times. And yes, they were fired, as I said earlier, that IS what the case is all about. It is not a case of the employees having gone on strike as was inaccurately reported in the newspaper. See the headline above. The waiting game now is due to the fact that the company has the right to appeal.

Any idea of how much time it could take before it is settled? If you are right, the employees should be compensated and the company severely punished. Unfortunately at this point Douglas will most likely be forced to appeal or file for bankruptcy.

Good luck.

I understand that feeling and agree with it. After all, if they in fact weren't following our laws we don't want them in business.

To Goodbye, Give it up and you are lowering yourself to others standards. You are not representing anyone well with this nonsensical banter. The language, spelling and atrocious grammar in this thread is sad. Can't anyone contribute some intelligent information or comments?
